greenman Posted September 15, 2010 Share Posted September 15, 2010 I poseted a few of their tracks on the youtube thread but generally I think there a band alot of people here might enjoy, basically garanre rock mixed with Velvet Underground inspired drone and a bit of a post punk nonse and eletronics thrown in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spacemen_3 One of there classic early bits of feedback drenched garage rock.... Very much the forgotten great band of british alternative/indie music I'd say, arguebley kicked off the whole feedback/shoegazing scene and really showed that having strong influences from the 60's didnt mean you had to merely ape them. The cover of Transparent Radiation from The Perfect Prescription is I'd say there greatest track... Jason Pierce(later of spiritualized fame and Sonic Boom/Pere Kember started to go there seperate ways musically by Playing with fire, Sonic tending more towards drone/noise rock... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xg5D-CqDoI8 ..and Peice went more towards a soulful pop direction he'd follow with Spiritualized after the band spilt.
