We want to play Minnesota Blues (Mess O' Blues) but I can't seem to figure out how Jimmy is play it. Any one got advice or something to help me out? Thanks. Laura_Page Posted April 24, 2011 Share Posted April 24, 2011 As I can hear in the version I have (BBC Sessions) the base is a shuffle with the progression of a traditional blues in E: E7, A7, B7. E7 is made in 5th chord, picking at the same time 6th and 5th chord, an finger in 2º fret and 4º fret. For A7, the same but picking 5th and 4th chords. It changes a bit in B7: 3th finger in 6th fret of 5º chord, first finger in 4th fret of 4º chord, and with the 4th finger changing to the 6th fret of 4th chord. He also includes other riffs, but they are all based in pentathonic blues scale in E I don't have got here the guita, I'll try to make a tab when I can. What do you mean by 6th and 5th chord, etc.? just different positions. I feel like i should know this because I've been playing for seven plus years but I don't.
