T-shirts from 1977 USA tour

Recommended Posts

I seen Zeppelin live on April 25, 1977 at Freedom Hall in Louisville ky.

The show sold out in record time!

I bought a Zeppelin t-shirt from that show, and have been looking on the Zeppelin official store for one just like it. The 1977 USA tour  t-shirt. Their store has not had any. I've looked, none.  They have baby onesee's, lol. But none of the very popular Zeppelin t-shirts. I've emailed the official store. They said, it's up to the band what the store sells. Although this was probably Zeppelin most popular t-shirt.  Thanks!

John G, I admire your effort about wanting to get the same shirt from the Led Zeppelin concert you saw in 1977, but this is the fourth thread you've made about this same subject. I think it would help you if you gave a more detailed description of the shirt as far a the exact color of it and if it is  a one-sided or two-sided shirt etc. You said there is a baby onesie shirt in the official website store that matches it but there are a few baby onesie shirts in the  official store, can you post a link of it for us so we can see it? Best of luck to you in finding it.

shocking as it is, virtually identical copies of the

official '77 shirt I purchased at the 6/13/77 MSG

gig are sold in the men's clothing section of many

American Target Store locations...I've personally

seen them in Target locations throughout dozens

of states over at least a half dozen years. In fact

I believe they are official merch, or at least sold in

agreement with their merch handlers (the tag says

MythGem LTD)

This thread reminded me of the shirt I bought at the 6/11/1977 show.  I bought it outside the Garden and later I realized I think it is a bootleg shirt.  I don't recall if there was anything on the back.

I saw that shirt NO DOUBT....being sold outside

the Garden two nights after your gig....the Zep

crew did a terrible job stopping the bootleg T's

....I clearly remember NO EFFORT to seize merch

from what were DOZENS of different bootleggers

selling at least 3 or 4 well made Zep T's RIGHT out

in the open, right next to the Garden and all the way

around it....there were LINES of people buying them

that DWARFED the lines inside at the official merch

tables....

Tony thanks.  Your memory of those things is much better than mine.  I remember the overwhelming crowd, the excitement of the crowd even way before the show as we were going in, the noise of the firecrackers (and M80s?), the air horns (remember those from the 70s?), the thick plumes of various types of smoke, the lunacy, the anticipation.  I don't recall even seeing official merch tables.   It was only my third big concert ever.  Saw Floyd at Nassau Coliseum June 1975 and then Sabbath/Nugent at the Garden Dec 1976.  So to me it was all pretty overwhelming, even before Zep hit the stage,

...I actually remember a ridiculous amount of little things,

remarkable given how stoned I was...and how young (14)

...that was my first concert, next two were in July at the

Commack Arena out on LI (Outlaws, Charlie Daniels Band)

...then a midnight Zappa gig at the Palladium....
