  1. Teenagers should stop rolling their cannabis joints with tobacco if they don't want CANCER, researcher warns

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-4581560/Teens-stop-rolling-cannabis-joints-tobacco.html

Ian Hamilton is a weed researcher based at the University of York

Youngsters should smoke the drug on its own to avoid health risks, he claimed

Tobacco is linked to some 17 types of cancer, including lung, throat and bladder

But no such links to the disease have ever been found from smoking the herb

  2. Another Cultural Icon of my youth gone sad.gif

I got to meet Adam at a fan convention in Plano, Tx. in 2001. He autographed my DVD of Batman: The Movie. He was the real deal, truly appreciative of his fans.

Being dropped off by my parents at the local theater on that summer morning in 1966, to see Batman: The Movie, as a 10 year old, is one of the highlights of my movie-going career....

Adam is now on assignment in the heaven-lies.

Stairway to Heaven: Led Zeppelin Uncensored by Richard Cole essentially serves this purpose. If you want to get into the minutiae of specific dates then forums and threads such as this are the best bet.

Yes, I want the minutiae, but just for Led Zeppelin. I could care less about any other band's movements on the road. I read Mr. Cole's book, but I guess I just didn't get enough info, particularly for their US tours. But it's been awhile, so maybe I need to take another look at it...

With the PS Stereo sound ported to my home stereo system, at 3am, in a darkened living room, the sights and sounds of the soundtrack of this game's Menu Music was hypnotic...

I don't often listen to Rush (I can only take Geddy Lee's voice in small doses), but when I do I find myself reaching for the "Signals" album more often than not.

I believe is was the Signals Tour that I won tickets through the radio station, to be bussed to the Cotton Bowl show. But the afternoon outdoor crowd was a drag. Just stupid 20 year olds drunk and throwing partially filled cups of beer down to the lower sections near where we were sitting.

But, when Rush came on that evening, the beer throwing stuff stopped.

I think the Signals material was better suited to an indoor arena.

I also saw their Test For Echo Tour, outdoor again, but at an amphitheater, which was no problem in hearing everything, loud and soft.

Lately, I have been listening to the Re-Mastered 2112 album with headphones on, and it's glorious!

^^^...At home with my notes now...

I show they all departed Heathrow on a commercial flight Sunday, December 22, 1968.

When they landed at Newark International Airport JPJ and his wife Mo left the entourage to enjoy a few days off and the Christmas holiday with singer Madeline Bell's parents. (He rejoined them in Denver on December 26th).

Page, Plant, and Bonham continued on to Los Angeles, arriving December 23rd 1968.

I'm actually very interested in how the Zeppelin machine moved about from gig to gig, the band, and the roadies. I think a book detailing the behind the scenes movements, of the band, and the road crew would sell a few copies. I'd certainly love reading about stuff like that ! The band has such mythology about it, that such details would help me to imagine being their on tour with them. And that's the kind of fantasies I like to imagine. I'll leave the mud sharks to them...

  7. From experiencing it live, my favorite WWL performance was in 1970 at the Tarrant County Convention Center Arena on the night of August 22. WLL was the highlight of the evening, of many highlights. The band gelled perfectly, all playing well, with Robert really shining with his performance on WLL. A tour de force!!

  8. Sadly, Zeppelin did not make it through the Dallas-Ft.Worth area in '72. The '71 and '73 shows in Dallas were okay, but I was blown away by Jimmy's performance on the March 4th Dallas '75 show and the May 22nd Ft. Worth '77 performance.

I guess it depends on what night you see the band.

Concerts as a whole, the best impressions were made on me:

    Ft. Worth 1970

    Dallas 1975

    Houston & Ft. Worth 1977

  9. GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - The long-awaited search warrants in Prince's death have been unsealed, revealing a lengthy list of prescription medications found throughout the singer's estate, some in the name of one of his oldest confidants -- and several containing controlled substances.

The search warrants, made public Monday morning, show more than 100 white capsules labeled Watson 853 were hidden in Aleve and Bayer Aspirin bottles and found in numerous rooms inside Paisley Park.

An online search reveals a multitude of sources that say that capsule is a mixture of acetaminophen and hydrocodone, a prescription classified as a narcotic.

CVS prescription bottles under the name Kirk Johnson -- Prince's former drummer, bodyguard and close, personal friend -- were found in the dressing room and mirror room. Each contained several different kinds of controlled substances.

Johnson has been working with Prince since the early 1980s. He is one of the only people who had unrestricted access to Paisley Park.

Investigators say after learning of Prince's toxicology screening, which showed he had a lethal dose of Fentanyl in his system at the time of his death, they found no prescriptions issued under his name -- but Johnson had a prescription for Oxycodone, which was prescribed by Dr. Michael Todd Schulenberg.

Schulenberg is the same doctor who was at Paisley Park on April 21 (the day of Prince's death) when deputies arrived on scene and the same doctor who admitted to authorities, he prescribed Oxycodone for Prince on April 14, the day before he overdosed while returning from a show in Atlanta, forcing his plane into an emergency landing.

Schulenberg told detectives he put that prescription in Johnson's name for Prince's privacy. *****Is that even Legal????*****

It's been nearly a year since Prince died from an accidental overdose at the Paisley Park estate, after being found unresponsive in one of the elevators.

Despite the search warrants which reveal Prince's access to other controlled substances, investigators still haven't traced the source of the Fentanyl that killed him, according to the latest search warrants filed last September.

  10. Luke going to the Dark Side in EP. VIII ???

    Two Star Wars Fans Discuss:

SWF 1: Luke, do you go over to the Dark Side?

SWF 2: Luke, you don't have to answer that question now!

Luke: I'll answer the question. You want answers?

SWF 1: I think I'm entitled to them.

    Luke: You want answers?!

SWF 1: I want the truth!

Luke: You can't handle the truth!

Son, we live in a world that has sides, and those sides have to be guarded by knights with lightsabres. Who's gonna do it? You? You, SWF 2? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Obi-Wan Kenobi, and you curse the Sith. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that Obi-Wan Kenobi's death, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives.

You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that dark side -- you need me on that dark side.

We use words like "honor," "code," "loyalty." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it.

I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a lightsabre and stand the post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think you're entitled to!

SWF 1: Do you go over to the Dark Side ?

Luke: I do the job I was --

SWF 1: Do you go over to the Dark Side ?

Luke: You're god damn right I do!!!
