I was listening to the OTHAFA from the 2007 Re-Mastered CD. Jimmy's blistering guitar work sets that apart for me, regardless of Robert's vocal range doesn't match the '72 HTWWW version. I don't care. I never went to a Zep concert in the 70's thinking to measure Robert's vocal range/register -- Never.

I'll take experiencing LZ live, over a thousand thousand boots!!

  2. Old man, look at my life
I'm a lot like you were
Old man, look at my life
I'm a lot like you were

Old man, look at your life
74 and there's so much more
    Live alone in a paradise
That makes me think of two
    Love lost, such a cost
Give me things that don't get lost
Like a coin that won't get tossed
    Rolling home to you

Old man, take a look at my life
    I'm a lot like you
I need someone to love me
    The whole day through
Ah, one look in my eyes
And you can tell that's true

    Lullabies, look in your eyes
Run around the same old town
Doesn't mean that much to me
To mean that much to you
    I've been first and last
Look at how the time goes past
But I'm all alone at last
Bringing it on home to you

  3. Sessions totally buys into the false assumption that pot use is always a gateway drug, and, that pot is as bad as heroin.

Well golly gee willikers , I remember back in 1967, the Dallas DA, Henry Wade, pushed that false narrative in an informational pamphlet, to scare Jr. High kids from being tempted to using pot.

    Lie and scare tactic.

pot is a gateway drug and that scares me about these new laws

    Gateway to what??

I would be much more scared for my life and safety because of all this, not a result of pot use:

    The opioid epidemic.

The Millions on prescription pain killers.

The Millions that have become alcoholics.

But, if think you'd be safer living somewhere that has all of the above, except legalized pot use, then go ahead, and think you're safer..

Crime rate way up in Colorado compared to the rest of the country.

"Some Colorado lawmakers, police and legal experts partly blame the marijuana industry, claiming that it has lured transients and criminals to the state."

Well, as more states legalize recreational use, then the % going to Colorado, will come down. California has a moderate climate. I suppose many of the transients and criminals will be headed out west... And the Colorado crime rate will go down..

just because 1 in 5 can do something doesn't mean they will.  Pot smoking seemed cool a long time ago and I understand people with cancer using it for pain. But a lot of pot smokers are going too far with recreation. Nobody should be driving a car if they smoked pot.

Those who drink or smoke weed in a responsible manner should be left alone and those who are fucking jackasses who choose to drive while lit should get a red hot poker up the ass and jail time.

Nobody should be driving a car if they have drunk any alcohol. How does that sound???

Ahhhh, but that's *not* the law, is it??

Do you realize how many thousands of people are driving vehicles on the road under the influence of "legal" prescription and over-the-counter medications??

They've done those tests where, in a closed area, they've allowed driver's to drink 2 drinks and test them. Then more drinks. Some of the driver's that said they didn't feel like they'd had too much, knocked over the cones.

I'd rather see alcohol banned. Yet, with hundreds of thousands of alcohol related deaths, it remains "legal" and acceptable, to even advertise on Television.

  7. Why Do Pipes Burst ?

Cold weather can cause serious issues when it affects the water supply pipes in your home. Although cold temperatures generally cause things to contract, ice has more volume than water so when water freezes inside a pipe, it expands and increases pressure inside the pipe. The building pressure needs to escape so it literally bursts right out of the pipe. This sometimes occurs at a weak joint in the pipe but pressure can burst right out the side of the pipe wall. One way to prevent water pipes from bursting during extreme cold is to turn on your faucets to allow a slow but steady stream of water to escape. This will keep water moving through the pipes and, most importantly, prevent pressure from building up inside. To prevent frozen pipes, Insulate exposed water supply pipes with foam pipe sleeves and don’t allow the temperature in the house to fall below 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Open cabinet doors below sinks to allow warm air to circulate around pipes.

Surely this must go down as Peter Grant's greatest single fuck up in regards to managing the band (with the greatest respect to him). All in all, there is not enough live footage, and the drug indulgence wasn't his best move, but this, sheeeesh!!!

Yes, even the great Beatles had Brian Epstein who made poor decisions concerning their world tours. IF we had had the Internet back in the day maybe fan wishes could have been noted and realized despite what a well-meaning Mr. Grant would have otherwise intended.

As to 1973 vs 1975... I saw both tours, and I favor the '75 tour much more than I favor the '73 tour. That's just me and my personal experiences. Visually, the '75 Tour beats the '73 Tour. My dream concert film would be from 1975, easily.

    I LOVE TSRTS's music (but I usually skip the non-musical parts <_<)

I looked at the concert footages over and over. I'm always melting seeing Robert hitting his chest on SIBLY ("you don't want me no more"), Jimmy teasing the audience with the guitar on Dazed (when he's shaking his ass, like waving a tail - just before "Do it!" :P ). I love the "chat" between JPJ and Bonzo during Dazed. In fact, I LOVE that Dazed as it entirely! No, I LOVE all the songs from that concert (including Celebration Day, or OTHFA,or The Ocean). Sometime I put the TSRTS DVD when I want to sleep (because I know it by heart, it doesen't bother my sleep, like the TV)

In hindsight, all of the musical performances should have been fully filmed, so that they could be released in addition to the fantasy sequences.

As someone in the band once said... "TSRTS is the most expensive home movie ever made."

On a day to day basis, I have no enjoyment watching the fantasy sequences again.

Unless you assume I'm eating magic mushrooms every day... watching the fantasy sequences every time is not desirable.

Anything that you have to be "under the influence" to enjoy, is not for me.

I'd much rather be able to watch the band performing all of the songs.

Hard Feelings because the band was not able to produce concert films of the 1975 or the 1977 Tours.

But I do understand the love for TSRTS, from those that never had a chance to see the band in person.

As to the review that started this thread, I can't waste my time critiquing a (mere) critic. :goal:
