One of my favorite things to do is read reminiscences of Zep concerts by people who attended them. One in particular sticks out. The person saw one of the '77 shows. He said the transition from the end of Jimmy's solo to the beginning of Achilles was the most stunning thing he ever saw in the 100 or so concerts he attended. This version from 5/22/77 made me think of how great it must have been to see that; the laser pyramid spinning around Jimmy in his dragon suit, him playing some seemingly random notes, "what song is this?", and then the blinding white lights as they launch into Achilles. Man, how I wish I got to see them live.

The '77 Jimmy solo transition that really sticks out for me is the end of "White Summer/Black Mountain Side" going into "Kashmir."

Jimmy is sitting on a small stool while soloing, and for the last note of Black Mountain Side, Jimmy stands and kicks the stool back in one motion, and immediately launches into the opening chords of the epic "Kashmir," with the power, the full force, the "Hammer Of The Gods..."

I made a mix tape in the 90's with the quick edit between the two songs. Happy Daze! :bubble:

    I'm a big LA77 fan.  Big 77 fan in general !

5/22 I think one of best energetic shows of tour.

5/21 I think is decent esp end of show.

I was at the Houston and the Ft. Worth shows. Being there, I enjoyed them both immensely. A much better presentation overall, than the 'dress rehearsal' in Dallas on April 1st. :yesnod:

The highlights of the Houston show for me, was TSRTS, Ten Years Gone, and the acoustic set.

The highlights for the Ft. Worth show were IMTOD, ALS, and Kashmir. That Ft. Worth Kashmir was the high point of the '77 Tour for me, and, a high point of all my live Led Zeppelin personal experiences throughout their career.

Well I know I've previously said I would not buy this book I just know if I see it in Waterstones I will not be able to resist.

Barnes & Noble left my city several years ago. But we do have a Half-Price Book store that does carry new releases. So, if the book ever appears there, I will look at it, to see if it's something I need. I'm picky, so we'll see. I was greatly disappointed with the Neal Preston book that came out in the 90's. So examining it in person will be the way I decide on a book.

Yes, and this is what I wanted to know about....is the Ocean in the middle? I assume it is not, and that's what I think is really lame because the rest of it is a disappointment, aside from improved EQ.

I have the Blu-ray audio disc. "The Ocean" is included as Track #10, sandwiched between "The Rain Song" and "Dazed And Confused."

The 24 page booklet, has the notes that are same ones written in 2007 by Cameron Crowe. I will say, that for a product like this that's being bought by a whole lotta fans now over 50, they could have easily used a larger font, and each page certainly shows that they had to room to do it!

The entire 15 tracks are in 5.1 Surround DTS HD Master Audio & in Stereo High-Resolution Linear PCM Audio

Plus Video of C Day, OTHAFA, M M Hop, & The Ocean.

    Exclusive Photo Gallery

The outside of the case and the outside of the album has a faux leather imprint on the black cardboard.

    The UPC # is 6-03497-85892-7

    The Catalog # is BD2-567649

I bet they’ll (WB/Rhino) release the “definitive super duper pooper scooper version” with original sequence/running order (w/ thank you) , longer versions & bonus angles (videos / including band member sequences options with concert footage reimagined , mirror glass options during solos, etc) sometime in next ten years, but it’ll cost ya an arm and a leg. Probably will be $,$$$.$$ For it.

Yeah, after Jimmy Page no longer walks this Earth, maybe..

When exactly was this taken, chef free? Does Jimmy actually sit through an entire Metallica concert?

I'm gonna guess some time around the occasion of a RRHOF performance for someone's induction.
