Magners please does anyone know where some of the threads have gone in the main forum ??
  4. I do have that on both VHS and DVD. the dvd has some footage of them in America too !! The California Jam dvd is cool too !!
  5. Hello Ev, sorry to hear about your T shirt problem !!! me about 40 years ago, thought it might make you all laugh !!
  6. Aw Mistreated, one of the most awe inspiring blues tracks from Blackers !!, very brooding !! a great simple but oh so wonderful riff !!
  7. Thanks mate for giving me first refusal on the ticket to see them ! I cannot wait to go to the gig.see you there !!

  8. Thanks Hotplant for the comments and the photos you sent way back !!

  9. ok but I think if you haven't heard Rainbow Rising then its worth a go !!
  10. I think all great musicians do put themselves down as they live knowing they are only as good as the last performance. I know this as having an ex wife and my father as prof musicians they would always be the first critic to themselves. I think anyone who plays somrthing and thinks they are just tickety boo is probably not !!! Glad to hear you think The Man in Black is good as I think he came up with amazing riffs, songs and had some feeling too in his playing, and in 2 bonifide classy rock bands, although latter day Rainbow was a bit Kish !!
  11. I haven't been able to bring myself to see him in tights, but I have heard that it can be good..the music not the tights
  12. Thanks for that I will put that on my Xmas list !! and yes the S&M cd is more latter day Rainbow and not Purples best. Do you like the Morse era Purple ?? I saw them a couple of time and he is a really great guitarist and does the music justice, though Purple without the man in black is just not the same.
  13. I must of seen the film Tommy as a teen more times than any other film.
  14. No I haven't !! When Joe Lynn Turner did vocals on the Slaves and Master tour of 1990ish, the one good thing about that tour was they Did burn as the opener to the show, which was cool !! With Gillan they didn't do MKIII stuff which is a shame. So although I do not like JLT as a vocalist it made it bearable having Burn in the set !!
  15. Burn is a great album and Burn itself is my fave Purple riff !! and You fool know One is so catchy !!
  16. Yes I did and its on the dvd Come hell or High water. I remember we were sitting directly behind Jon lord at the side of the stage. They kicked into highway Star, but Blackers didn't come on so they kept the intro going and going, we could tell there was a problem, after a while they went on with the song without Blackers, when it came to the guitar solo he came on, threw water over Lord to the cameraman. I thought great we are in for an interesting evening !
  17. Yes they are a good band although when I saw them Rogers wasn't the singer !! though I saw him with Page in The Firm !!
  18. Her is a few of my tickets to see Purple, i saw them about 8 times !!
  19. Although I am a Dio years fan and not Ozzy I did got to see Sabbath with Ozzy as it had to be done, also I have been to the Ozzfest to see him too. I like his guitarest Zk Wylde and think he is a great player !! I love one of Zaks solo songs called Horse called War, what a riff, love playing that !! Oh and the one time I went to see sabbath with Dio as singer, when we got there at the hall, it was cancelled due to floor stage problems, we were gutted. We got a refund and bought tickets to see Thunder the week after. But Dio stayed on and met us to say sorry and autographed stuff for us.
  20. Cool !! thats Leicester isn't it ?? I love Kill the King , what a great song, what a great band !
  21. Yes and he did some great albums with Billy Cobham and James Gang !!
  22. That must of been cool to be there, I didn't see them untill 1997 and 2001/2, although the 2001 gig had the Wakeman,Howe,Anderson,Squire and White too, oh and Squires bass solo spot was so heavy and shook the floor boards. I have to say I have a soft spot for the Drama era lineup as Tempus Fugit is one of my fave tracks and Chris used some of this for his solo spot !!
