  1. This stock market crash is starting to scare me. I am afraid to look at my 401K accounts. Last that I looked, first of November, it was down 40% from its peak in October 2007. Down even more this week.

What made me happy today? Took the day off to clean and shop for Thanksgiving. Having about 20 people over for dinner on Thursday and the family will play "The Turkey Bowl" touch football game.

Remember, you don't actually lose money on it until you sell!

  2. Led Zeppelin's 6/25/72 afternoon soundcheck at the LA Forum was recorded -- an hour of 'Elvis Golden Discs Volume One' renditions!

    Steve,

Any idea what became of this soundcheck as I have never seen it in the usual places? Maybe, Jimmy kept this stuff locked up tight, unlike a lot of the sondboard material that made it's way into the bootleg circles back in the 80's and 90's. This would be something if this ever saw the light of day, considering that the band was in peak form for the show that night.

  3. That same thing happened to someone who I know. It was shattering at the time of the child's passing, and yet his mother carried on. It reminds me of the sorrow of Mary when Christ died.

Good analogy E.L., Must be unbelievable to deal with. When someone says I feel your pain. I don't believe that, because they didn't lose a child. They feel the loss, but not the pain. I don't wish that on anyone.

  4. Thanks Steve for the article. Always knew the context of the lyrics, but now with this article, "I Believe", is even more powerful and takes on more meaning. Pretty amazing.

To lose your child the way Robert did at such a young age, must be unbearable and I'm sure he's never been able to get over. Only six years old, from a rare virus and there was nothing he could do about it. The fact that his young boy of six years, was never able to live his life and was taken from Robert and Maureen in an instant. So tough. He can cope now, the memories are there as is the pain.
