  1. Oh, haha, nah, just an expression. Those are the places we used to go to a lot. Ya know, "let's visit the old 'haunts' ". The Catfish place you mentioned sounds excellent. Reminds me of the setting to Porgy and Bess--Catfish Row.
  2. You Were On My Mind - We Five
  3. Dear Kentucky girl I'm sorry to hear this. I hope your shepherd feels better real soon. You were good to take him to the vet. I bet the antibiotics help a lot. Dear Hotplant. Hope your son feels better by the end of Father's Day. His first one! Dear JAL Take heart! It's annoying to have to be immunized. I know lol. Just think of the needle as a little pinch by a teasing friend. (Hope I didn't forget anybody. Hope everyone's well!)
  4. I'm glad your Dad is recovering, Electrophile!. Hope he feels better real soon. Hope you and your sister have fun giving him some TLC. Happy Father's Day to you all!
  5. Hey, thanks, ninelives! I did have a great time with her. We visited old Brooklyn haunts like one of favorite pizza joints and a new restaurant, too, for a special, happy occasion. We caught up by talking of old times when we were kids--esp. the music!
  6. I'm glad you had a happy birthday, Broken Levee! I'm an avid shopper, too.
  7. My World Is Empty Without You - The Supremes
  8. I heard a dialogue in passing within a music classroom... student: "could you play that song by those four guys?" [indicates a photo of Led Zeppelin on the teacher's "great musicians" wall] teacher: "Which song, this?" [plays the opening riff off How Many More Times?] to which the kids exclaim, "Yes!!!!" edited to add: I asked the teacher, "did you ever show them the Led Zeppelin DVD of them doing that song?" he said "No because it's difficult to procure a DVD player 'round here. But once I do, I will". (the students are in the third grade--ages 8-9)
  9. Up On The Roof - The Drifters
  10. My sister's in town this weekend. She lives in a different state, so we don't see each other too often.
  11. And I'm sure you'll look very pretty wearing it!
  12. I Think It's Going To Rain Today - Judy Collins
  13. Song To A Siren - Robert Plant
  14. Hi, to everyone above me. Sorry for all your woes re: illness and discord. Re: how people treat one another, I hear ya. This one was really yesterday. Sorry. To mad to talk about it. Anyway, a colleague (an adult, mind you) wronged me on several occasions over the past six months. She bad-mouthed me. She basically refuses to come to a mutually agreeable resolution, despite my sincere efforts to have a friendly one-on-one talk. Instead, she basically told me to "talk to the hand".
  15. Good Morning Starshine - Sheila from Hair
  16. I'm sorry, slave to zep, that anyone would wish to cause you any unhappiness.
  17. Good Morning, Little Schoolgirl - Yardbirds
  18. How Sweet It Is (to be loved by you) - Marvin Gaye
  19. Yay! Broken Levee! That's great! I know the feeling. It's like slow motion when it happens. No more carrying around all the time! More autonomy for the little one!
  20. Fear No More - set to music by Stephen Sondheim (text by Shakespeare from Cymbeline) (used in Sondheim's musical based on Phrogs)
