  1. I'm stunned you guys think Page is no longer capable of creative music output. Maybe he couldn't match Jones for creativeness now, and that a HUGE maybe, but even if so, jamming and just hanging out in a studio, no way Page is not playing with fresh ideas and trying out new things not to mention they could always go back to the start and re-exploring their early blues roots and passions/influences and see what ideas emerge.

I really don't get the 'Page would not keep up' type of assumption. Yeah, not much output of late (10 years gone some might say) but loss of creative desire - that can be down to motivation/circumstance. Ability? - no way.

  2. As I said in another forum,

Page and Jones. - THAT could be a great starting foundation for a new project going forward. Get together, jam, write, perform, get others in to see what's what, go from there.

In the very early Zep days it seems Jones was more key than people either realise, or at least talk about. It was a Page project to start, no doubt, but the input from Jones should not be underestimated. Importantly, this should work for Page as much as work overall.

And I often skip Trampled Underfoot - primarily because I feel they never really nailed that song live...

That's funny, I am the opposite when it comes to 1980. I have not yet listened to anywhere near all the boots - especially '80 as it was somewhat "uneven". But the Hotter than the Hindenburgh boot from Frankfurt...

I basically have skipped the entire boot with the exception of this for the last few months. TU could not have gotten any better than this one. Maybe Zurich the night before. It is also immensely above any other performance given for this song IMHO.

I skip Moby Dick unless I am incredibly immersed in the whole boot or album. But to be honest, it's rare I don't skip it.

  4. Rogue One.

I thought it was freakin BRILLIANT. Tied in Ep. 3 to Ep. 4 PERFECTLY. And the characters that were "revived" to make it gel, wow. Just a GREAT Star Wars Universe movie. Probably the best one of the lot.

I'll go again it was that good. And I only commit to cinema's about 3 times a year, so that's saying something!

Bring on Alien Covenant now... :)

  5. 1971/01/23 - The Great Lost Live Album.

OTHAFA, SIBLY, TSRTS, TRS, DaC - the whole thing actually...

As a show, it truly could be a live release for audio quality and performance.

One of the best SIBLY and Over the Hills from that year if not ever. (prove me wrong PLEASE!!!) :)

Is there a better boot from around that time for audio quality and performance??? (MUST have the fast start to SIBLY - you know - the BEST they ever got that song)

Amazing boot - one of my best.

  6. Dear Mr Page,

I just heard the Rolling Stones I Can't Quit You Baby.

    OK, that's horse. (unreal/awesome/major/intense)

THIS Jimmy, this is what I thought the return of Black Beauty might re-ignite in you. Some of those sweet blues roots. Something to start you with something new - or a new interpretation of something done. The Stones new album is awesome. I truly hope Mr Page, you takes some inspiration from this and revisits this stuff. Guitar in hand, alone, GET LOST in it bruh! Then turns that into something more. Something for us - dare I say.
