  1. A most excellent birthday wish to planted! :birthday:

I hope you enjoyed a marvelous day with loved ones and lovely presents...and wine. ?

A birthday toast to you. Cheers! :toast:

thanks S! I did have a nice day, even though I worked.. BUT, 2 of my best girlfriends took me to Nantucket for the weekend, which was a total shock and surprise!! A great time was had by all...and the weather cooperated.

    :)

  2. What made me happy today?

Not sure if this belongs here or in the 'Random Facts' thread...

I got to meet Sully Erna tonight at a meet and greet he was doing for Pura Vida Tequila. He couldn't have been more cordial to those of us waiting in line to meet him.

Yes, I am a closet metal fan..;)

  3. I'm officially retiring today after 36 years. 55 and out baby !! It's going to be a very long 4th of July weekend !!

Oh man, that is something to celebrate! Congratulations!

My husband is a firefighter paramedic, 35 years on the job. Hopefully he can retire in 5 years..

Best to you, enjoy your retirement in good health.

    Cheers!

  4. Had a date with my parents Tuesday night and saw "Love and Mercy"..

    GO.SEE.THIS.MOVIE.

and stay throught the credits, you're welcome.

Big fan of John Cusack, he was outstanding!

Paul Dano was simply amazing. He's a lot of fun to watch.

This story has something for everyone..the music piece of it is exciting and reminiscent and will make you smile. The other piece about how he almost lost everything to one greedy sumbeech will only make you realize how the love of this person (who had nothing to gain, btw) literally saved his life.

The cookout scene made me cry and the housekeeper made me cheer!!

I will definitely see it again!

  5. Thanks for all the well wishes! She did very well and even got a few award surprises from her efforts in high school.

The parents of graduating seniors host an overnight party for the graduates so they may have a safe place to go after the ceremony. This year we rented a sports center from 11pm to 5am! They had everything from bowling to laser tag, and received about $18,000 in prizes..every kid left with something from gift cards to cash to fridges for their dorms next year. It's was wonderful time and almost every kid went.

We got home at 5:30 this morning and I am just starting to feel human again!
