Cheers, Planted.
She was looking forward to skating in Central Park, now she'll be lucky if she can ski there!?
She'll be there for a week, then flies home after six months at Disney World via LA.
I remember now you saying something about Disney..did she love it?? My friends son is so happy he took the internship..
I think she should be okay in Central Park...they didnt get anywhere near what was predicted. She will love it there! It's absolutely beautiful in the snow!

No power on Nantucket
And police are now using infrared cameras to be sure there aren't people on the side of the roads walking, shoveling, etc...
Some snow drifts are as high as 4ft...

Worcester has 25" on the ground..

Is there a ski resort near by?
I don't know about a resort but there is a small hill in Shrewsbury..;-)
Mount Wachusett would be the next closest to me, in Princeton, Ma.
We have several golf courses in town that allow XCountry, snowshoeing, sledding...I live on a deadend at the top of a hill with only one major road leading to civilization, haha...

My daughter made it safely to New York today. She flew in from Orlando Florida.
Ooh, glad to hear that Reggie. She flew right into this monster storm.
I hope she has a great time in the Big Apple!

The jackpot for snowfall is Milford, Ma...about 15min from where I am right now..
They are reporting 2 1/2 feet now...
78mph winds on Nantucket.

Sending prayers her way....they say the Lord only gives you what you can handle. Having faith can be tough. I'm sure you'll give her something she needs, Kris, whether its word or care. Take care in this nasty storm hitting y'all!
I am sure I have nothing to offer her....just try to do the best job I can...I am not too proud to admit I sobbed all the way home tonight.
And this storm is ridiculous.

A woman who is fighting colon cancer lost her son over the weekend in a car crash. He was 25..
How much can one woman take???

Nantucket is reporting 3.5" already.
Worcester County is expecting 2-3' over the next 30hrs...
Praying people stay off the roads so my husband doesn't have to go out in this shit...

^ That sucks, Kris! I remember those days...
Sunny and 60, with 20-25 mph winds. Gonna have to turn the heat on tonight!
But ya know, a winter storm is a good excuse to slow down and appreciate the weather we have here.
Driving in it...not so much....
-
Cold, icy, snowy and gross...the kids and I just shoveled the walk and driveway...heart attack snow for sure!

I agree, Kris. On both parts. Especially the compliments given to you! Hope you, hubby, and the family are doing well!
Thanks, Walter! Happy New Year to you and your family. :-)

^^^ His compliment was sincere (and well-founded). You should learn to take compliments better, Kris. Hehe.
Perhaps I should, however, I would like to point out that this forum can be a hostile place from time to time.
Therefore, given the fact that I have had no contact with this member, it was an entirely honest question.

^ Wow Planted, I did not know you tap dance. So much talent, beauty, wit, and compassion in one person. How lucky we are to know you.
Sarcasm?

...a much needed and long overdue facial for this dull, tired and old skin of mine...

^^ Yes, to all of the above. The Marie Callendar chicken strips are quite good--although I prefer the Boston Market's chicken tenders w/ mac and cheese....
OMG...Boston Market...my mouth is watering!

Pork tenderloin with apples and onions

Ditto dear.
Late night supper of baseball steak at the HMS Bounty tonight. With mashed potatoes and zucchini and carrots. Glass of pinot noir.
Sounds like we are on the same page..
As usual..
What's the weather like where you are?

I think you're right!
Luckily hubby didnt have to go out last night but he's been out this morning for a medical emergency. Almost whiteout conditions...
