On this day in 1985, the Live Aid concerts drawing attention to world hunger took place, reuniting Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones in a musical setting for the first time since the death of Led Zeppelin's drummer.

On this day in 1969, Led Zeppelin and Jethro Tull shared the stage at the Philadelphia Spectrum. The members of Led Zeppelin had to be escorted off the stage by armed guards after their set, because the audience was going absolutely berserk.

On this day in 1969, Led Zeppelin kicked off the weekend with an appearance alongside Jethro Tull, Buddy Guy and Johnny Winter at the Laurel Pop Festival at a race track in Maryland. Washington Post reporter Carl Bernstein, who later helped to crack the Watergate story, was on hand and said "Led Zeppelin were mildly interesting, if not musically original."

Led Zeppelin spent the month of July 1979 getting everything ready for their comeback concerts in England, set for August 4th and 11th of the following month. They hadn't played in England in over four years, and in that time a new and rebellious style of music had enchanted England.

On this day in 1980, Led Zeppelin played the last show of their European tour. The concert was in Berlin, (West) Germany, and it went well. No fireworks came close to hitting Jimmy Page in the face as had been the case in Vienna and no bouts of exhaustion made John Bonham collapse as had been the case in Nuremburg.
