  4. Americans knew the people who were killed in New York on 9/11. In many cases they were their own family members, spouses, brothers, sisters, fathers or mothers directly related to them. And New York was their home. It was as if someone walked right into their living room and opened fire. If Osama's organization did not want the CIA to target them, why did they invade New York? No one forced them to attack New York. But once they did, they were certain to be on the CIA's hit list. firstread.msnbc.msn.com
  5. It would be, except there are probably defenses in this case. He made it on to their hit list for a reason. So, I just pray for everyone concerned to find serenity and healing, including the victims, and leave it in Heaven's providence and mercy to pass judgement and guide any lost souls on the path to salvation. He looks into the depths of our souls and absolves us at His discretion. Moses came down from the mountain with a message of "thou shalt not kill". Generally it is a mortal sin to kill, the problem being that once a life is taken you cannot simply return the stolen merchandise to the shelf, unlike the venial sin of shoplifting. It was a show of good faith towards the followers of Islam that the U.S. Navy tried to give the deceased person as proper of a burial as they knew how to do. And knowing that they had taken a man's life, however guilty he may have been, it seems maybe the guys realized that they ultimately answer to a higher power. They were apparently just wanting to show reverance for any human life lost, even that of someone who has done great wrong. Or it may have simply been to have favorable public relations and limit repercussions.

  10. I don't know. When the neighbors were interviewed, they seemed surprised. But when the Taj Majal was attacked, there was an area of Pakistan that came into question. So maybe this is similar. 12. There is photographic evidence, but it is described as gruesome. And I can see how the people who hid Osama could keep it a secret from the authorities. Maybe they had an unknown, low-profile local person secure the real estate deal to escape the detection of the authorities. They probably did not give Osama's name to anyone involved in the real estate deal. He was probably introduced as a visitor if he was introduced at all, and may have worn a disguise to prevent questions. He may have stayed inside except perhaps at night, to avoid being noticed. He would easily blend into a religious community where people kept to themselves. As for Guantanamo, I hope they have started to get intelligence by rewarding people rather than engaging in behaviour that would shame George Washington. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bin Laden's neighbors noticed unusual things Questions persist about how authorities could not have known who was living in the compound msnbc.msn.com

  14. It is possible that the property was rented or purchased by someone who was not recognized by the Pakistani government as an associate of Bin Laden. He could have accessed the area under the secret protection of civilians unknown to the Pakistani government. 15. striving to attain national security objectives = And you should always preserve your rights and boundaries. Respecting your enemy can be disarming and can sometimes buy time and keep you in whatever good graces he might have when you are in a pinch in enemy territory. I can understand the emotion that people are experiencing. He caused great pain and loss to many and it is natural for them to react. It is a free country. If waving the flag makes them happy then I can accept that with a smile. At the same time it frustrated me that I could not restore the many lives that the man had taken. He was a very handsome man and he threw his life away when he sacrificed so many people. How stupid was that? All I could do was pray for their redemption as they were then in the hands of the heavenly Father. And I knew then that Osama's days were numbered and that he could only look over his shoulder as the long arm of the law reached for him. I knew there was nothing I could do in this world to change that. But I could still pray for the healing of his victims and the redemption of his soul in heaven where he can someday find forgiveness for the wrong he did in this world. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vatican says Bin Laden will have to answer to God kgmi.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And this just in... 16. Yes, love has the ability to transform. But of course you must recognize the times when love is lacking. During those times, you should strive for mutual respect. Your enemy cannot hate you for respecting him. And you should always preserve your rights and boundaries.
  17. Possibly. Maybe they watched the compound to see when the least number of people would be present. But they probably did not have very much time to act. centurylink.net
  18. Osama was considered to be one of the masterminds responsible for the conspiracy to attack thousands of innocent people in the United States in New York that occurred on September 11, and he was also viewed as a continuing danger. The attempt to take Osama into custody was seen as a reasonable defense of others, similar to the right of self-defense. The U.S. Navy SEALs did not have strict orders to kill Osama, and if he had not resisted and fought, he might still be alive today. They had permission to kill him if he fought and presented a danger, which he did, but they were not obligated to kill him. They could have simply placed him in custody if he had not attacked them when they tried to arrest him. The U.S.A. protects its citizens, especially from indiscriminate targeting by others. We are not here for the target practice of other countries, and this was our way of letting them know that. Just don't invade our country and attack our citizens, and our Navy SEALs will leave you in peace to pursue life, liberty and happiness.
