  1. Deflategate was all bullshit folks..

The New England Patriots lost a 1st and 4th round draft pick,  they were fined a million dollars... they have been wrongfully called "cheaters" for the past 7 years and Tom Brady had to serve a 4 game suspension likely because he had  photos of his supermodel wife on his phone he didn't want some snoopy investigator drooling over..  It was all a big fat lie..  I hope Roger Goodell gets fired or heavily fined.. or suspended even ..  hopefully more to come on this farce... like an apology and maybe some compensation for The Patriots and Tom Brady.

Well by now you know the Bills are moving on and I love their chances.  I cant believe you got Covid?  How bad was it?  Man.  Good to know you got through.  I have this curse called type 2.  Sucks

They beat New England pretty soundly.. that first interception hurt bad... 14 point swing right there.. and it was game over with the turn over in the 3rd.  The bi-week... killed their momentum, which is odd.

If the Bills play as good as they did last night, they could win it all. Not sure how consistent they are though. They're due, a very good team and their fans are loyal,  so best of luck.

Thanks... We were lucky both my Wife and I. Mild temperature for 2-3 days, mostly very tired.. The fatigue lasted about 3 weeks..

My youngest and her Husband got it a few months earlier. They did ok too.

Have not seen you much Chase?  Hope you are ok with this nightmare called Covid?  You know, a rookie QB has not won a playoff game since 2012 and it was Russel Wilson.  The Bills lead the NFL in sacks the last four weeks by a mile.  They have been lights out on defense and they have the best point differential in football.  Belecheck does not play the game.  Too bad for you guys  But losing this game is no disgrace for them.  After all after last year Brady pretty much had everyone saying all of the success up there over the years was all Brady.  This year proves it was Belecheck also. Mac Jones is a big step down from Brady. And Josh Allen is the best QB we have ever had.  And Jim Kelly is the first to say that. He was the best draft pick in a long time and the Jets are really kicking themselves for not taking him.

hi Rick. We're good thanks. Hope you and your Family are well. We both had Covid in September.. We were lucky we didn't get it too bad.

Tom Brady was pretty much a rookie when he stepped in for Drew Bledsoe. It was his second year, but he didn't really play at all his first year... but yeah, point taken..

The Patriots haven't been the same since the Bi-week, they went from 7 wins in a row to 1-3... but we'll see what happens.. Pretty one sided game so far..

No idea why the above poster is talking about Miami right now?  They are out, and insignificant.  But that said, I hope they show up and beat NE.  Their defense should bring that rookie back to Earth after Belecheck ran the score up on the worst team in the NFL.  But I just learned this.  In another important game in the playoff picture, Indy has not won at Jacksonville since 2014!!!!  How is that possible?  Can you imagine them upsetting Indy?  I cant. But if they do, one writer on CBS has stated that if Indy loses, a tie between the Chargers and Raiders would put them both in the playoffs!!!!  Meaning they could both agree to kneel down and let the clock run out for a 0-0 TIE.  IF THAT HAPPENED, THEY BOTH GET IN.   Can you imagine Goodell having that to watch!!!! lol.  I would love it. Sean, if you read this, which is not likely, I hope your Raiders get in. I will be cheering for them.  They can really upset the apple cart.   I want to see Indy or NE go to KC vs fat ass Andy and his trash talking Chiefs.  I want those bitch's gone from any chance of having to stomach another Super Bowl watching them getting hammered. My Bills will destroy them if they must return.  AGAIN.  I stand by my pick and have two tickets in my wallet that are $2 wagers each that would return $200 each.  All I need is  a Rams vs Bills Super Bowl.  And its damn possible. I see the Rams going into Green Bay for the title game. So Rogers will try to beat the Rams by what, throwing to Adams every time in key moments?  Do you think McVay is going to allow that to happen?  NO.  Jalen Ramsey himself can make it very hard on their go to guy.  The Rams at Packers would be a classic matchup of old NFL teams.  I am very well schooled on the history of both teams. Before the Bills were in the NFL, I liked Green Bay.  This is later 60s mind you.  I had read Instant Replay by Jerry Kramer.  A fabulous novel about training camp under Vince Lombardi.   A diary to be specific.  Lombardi did not put up with the crap that goes on now. The old Rams were lead by the Fearsom Foursome. Do you know that Deacon Jones may very well lead in all time sacks?  THEY NEVER KEPT RECORDS IN THOSE DAYS.   So we do not know.  I have wanted them to go over film and count them.  Also go back and watch film and see how many damn points Rick Barry would have had in that 70 point game he put up with NO 3 POINT LINE!!!!!!!  Back to the Fearsome Foursom.  Deacon Jones had Merlin Olson, another beast on that line and Lamar Lundy.  Roman Gabriel was the QB.  So it would not be Bart Starr and Roman Gabriel. But Rogers vs Stafford is pretty good. To me the Rams are deeper.  Green Bay has coasted through a soft schedule vs bad teams.  Remember opening day when they were pummeled by New Orleans?  A healthy New Orleans.  Ill pick the Saints to squeak in with a win over Atlanta and the Rams disposing of the 49ers.  The AFC is more complicated. Somehow Baltimore and Pittsburgh are still mathematically alive.  You know how that shit goes. Wont happen. I just cannot see Jacksonville knocking the Colts out. But I would not lay 15 on the road either.  Even after the 50-10 dismantling by Billy Belecheck up in NE after my Bills gave them a good spanking.  So I will say the final playoff teams are as follows

NFC   (Rams, Boys, Bucs, Packers, Eagles, Cardinals, Saints)

AFC   ( Bills, Bengals, Titans, Chiefs, Colts, Patriots, Raiders)

Yes.   Raiders over Chargers.  Why?   Because the San Diego Chargers have NO DEFENSE  whatsoever. They are horrible on D.

PS  Bills roll Jets to win AFC East.

60 minutes of football Rick.  There's no mercy rule in professional sports... That worst team in the NFL just kicked the crap out of the Colts.. Any Given Sunday..

Besides, did you call out the Bills for running up the score against the Texans 40-0?  or the Jets 45-17?

    oh and Happy New Year

  5. Rest In Peace John Miles, aged 72. after a brief illness.

John appeared on Jimmy Page's Outrider album and Tour in 1988.

He handled Robert Plant, Chris Farlowe, and Paul Rodgers vocal ranges pretty flawlessly.

John also worked with Tina Turner, Allan Parsons, Grace Jones as well as a respectable solo career..

The Leslie is the same device he used to create the watery guitar sound on "Down by the Seaside".

I believe John Paul Jones ran his Bass through a Leslie cabinet on Heartbreaker.. Different effect.. Huge sound.

Yup. I deleted about 3 more just because it’s redundant. To be honest I haven’t seen a lot of the classics. But I love a good laugh.

Titanic and the other huge movies...I’ve seen it maybe two or three times, but some are traditions to watch. Christmas Vacation we watch every year on Christmas Eve, at least.

Good to see you here, the chase!

Thanks Walter! I appreciate it. Nice to see you as well.

  11. All the ones mentioned already... But especially Friends into Celebration Day is pretty awesome.. and as mentioned all from an accident. Studio pros at their best.

On the 4 CD Boxed set, there was a cool transition from the Bonzo's Montreaux / Moby Dick remix right into I'm Gonna Crawl.

On the Walking into Clarksdale tour, they went from How Many More Times (the descending part right before "Oh Rosey") into What Is and What Should Never Be. perfect transition..I know it says Studio but this really stood out...

For the same reason that Ann Bredon sued Page for Babe I'm Gonna Leave You but didn't sue Joan Baez and willie Dixon sued for Wole Lotta Love but didn't sue The Small Faces for You Need Loving. They didn't care about artist integrity if someone who wasn't making any money recorded it, they only cared when there was cash to be made of a successful act.

Joan Baez gave Ann Bredon credit for BIGLY .. so she was in the clear.

The Small Faces did not give Willie Dixon credit.

Yep. Agree w/ you Brigante. Anyone trying to say Nirvana only made it because of Dave is trying to rewrite history. Nirvana was Kurt’s vision with Krist then (much later..., with Dave, as he was their 7th drummer, or so, I believe).  Nirvana was signed to SubPop label, made Bleach.  Got a big deal with Geffen Records (big budget to shoot “Teen Spirit”, was on MTV (TRL), heavy rotation everywhere (radio, tv, etc)). Dave was their best (and last) drummer, so he enjoyed the benefits of success (like Ringo for The Beatles; Pete Best, who???).  Anyway, this thread has shifted away from its original topic (the Bonham book, “Beast”, which I think is a stupid title, with no backing from anyone of note, so I will most likely pass).

    R😎

I don't think anybody said "only made it because of Dave"  ...  I know I didn't.  His drumming certainly made them more commercial. Right Drummer for the band.

Lads, lads, let me get this straight: it wasn't Kurt, it wasn't Kurt's songs, it wasn't Butch's shiny production, it wasn't the big record label and it wasn't the alterna-rock culture change - it was because...they got a new drummer? Hmmm...🤔

all of the above.. No doubt Kurt Cobain was a genius songwriter. Butch Vig is an excellent Producer. Nirvana were the Alterna-rock culture change. They were the spearhead..

And Dave Grohl's drumming added a lot of memorable catchy licks to the songs..

  14. Queens Of The Stone Age's - Songs For The Deaf - has some amazing drumming.

Dave Grohl has a writing credit with Nirvana for Scentless Apprentice - Track 2 on In Utero. He wrote the main riff, which follows the drum pattern exactly. It's one of my favorite Nirvana songs..

It's very similar to his playing with QOTSA and TCV. His drumming in Nirvana was direct, simple, powerful, memorable and distinctive ...which was perfect for the band.. I agree with BobDobbs that he made Nirvana more commercial and successful.

Overrated? I wouldn't compare him to Vinny Colaiuta or Gavin Harrison, but he's great drummer in his own right.

    Overexposed? Definitely.

  15. Dave was probably asked to write the forward.. What was he supposed to do, say no?  Word gets out he refuses to write the forward to a John Bonham Biography would get him much more criticism than he's getting for writing it.. I'm sure Dave was honored to write the forward, so more power to him.

I'm also a little sick of seeing both Dave and especially Taylor Hawkins everywhere.. But it's a different time.. And it is kind of cool to see 2 very good drummers getting some of the spotlight.

But yeah too much Dave and Taylor.. but again.. Should they say no...?

The only thing that bothers me is so called Neil Peart fanatics like Taylor (and Jack Black) who keep calling him Neil Pert.. How hard is it to pronounce your heroes name correctly...

Also, if you want to title your book with a nickname that everyone associates with John Bonham ... simply call it BONZO..

Almost nobody knows him as The Beast or Beast.. Sensationalist title..

It could be a great read, but that title pretty quickly brings back Hammer Of The Gods flashbacks..

  16. I'm sorry RainbowElf... I just saw this. it was pretty incredible. Bill Ward was still in the band. He left the tour a week or 2 after this show. I was already a major Dio fan for about 2-3 years at this point. It was my first time seeing Black Sabbath too. I didn't see the original band until Ozzfest 1999. It was also originally a Blue Oyster Cult show we had tickets for. About a week before the scheduled date, the concert was pushed back a day and Black Sabbath were added. They both had the same Manager at the time, Sandy Pearlman. Bill Ward seemed a little out of it, but listening back to some of it now, he sounds quite good. Blue Oyster Cult were super tight and went on last. This show was recorded and Broadcasted by The King Bisquit Flower Hour which explains why there are a professional recording.
