The irony is that there are plenty of times Eddie Van Halen hasn't sounded all that great live either, like he had a broken hand... It happens, they're human.
Drugs and Drink can make the all time greats sound not so good.
The main problem is his big mouth.

I get that. There’s plenty of piss taking in the States too... better known as ball busting.. Maybe not to the same level as where you live Mook. But with some of my friends, it can be brutal.
But, most of those witty RP interviews from the mid 80’s early 90’s, he talks of when “Page and I were doing this” and “Me and Page doing that” or “Page and I get all kinds of offers to do it again”.... Jimmy this Jimmy that..He almost never mentioned Jones or what he bought to Led Zeppelin. Mostly just these odd, off the cuff remarks. Like Page and Plant did everything. The exclusion, plus the ribbing did not come off as good natured. Not to me anyway..
Seems to have blown over years ago so great, whatever.

Personally, I’d like to see Jimmy build a state of the art studio in his mansion. Of course nothing that would mess with the building’s historical standing..
I don’t know.. half of me thinks the guy paid handsomely for his home.. I wouldn’t want my neighbor sticking his nose in my business. But the other half realizes the dummy shouldn’t have bought in such a protected area.
I wish Jimmy was in the news for other reasons.
