  1. How can so many of you dislike The Grateful Dead? Back about 15 years ago, I shared many of your sentiments. Fact was, outside of the song Truckin' and Casey Jones, I really didn't know this band. Bob and Ron's Record Club (a Saturday night vinyl only show in Chicago) changed my opinion of this great band. If you won't take my word for it, have a listen... Two of the very best songs known to man are "Ripple" and "Attics Of My Life"

  3. In all it's glory 1/22/73 at Southampton, UK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqO151_RxMU
  4. Great show! For being introduced back to the set for the first time in a few years, How Many More Times is pretty good here.
  5. Absolutely The Grateful Dead was one of the best live bands of all-time. American Beauty is a excellent album.
  6. The movie "Small Soldiers" was able to use Communication Breakdown, and featured dialogue about Led Zeppelin in one particular scene.
  7. There are numerous Led Zeppelin references in the WGN/WB series "Supernatural" "While original scores are used throughout episodes, another important aspect of the series' music is classic rock, over which creator Eric Kripke threatened to quit when the network would not allow its inclusion. Most of the songs are from Kripke's private collection, although one of his favorite bands—Led Zeppelin—is too expensive to use. Some episode titles are references to Led Zeppelin songs."[42]
  8. 670 The Score - Chicago's Sports Station Yes, I love sports almost as much as music.
  9. Yes Soundgarden, Pearl Jam & RHCP! I do own everything up to & including 5150. The music of Van Halen is slightly better than BLAH for me - much of the stuff sounds the same. Not until Haggar arrive did their music expand. My favorite period is form Women And Children First & Fair Warning. 5150 was good too. I'm probably the only one in the world that thinks Van Halen's album 1984 sucks. Was never a fan of 1984 - Hot For Teacher, Panama, Jump? Lame!
  10. Great show! How Many More Times is outstanding, and probably my all-time favorite version.
  11. My feeling on Van Halen is lukewarm. They put out some decent stuff, but I don't believe they are in the same league as all the greats - Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Who, Pink Floyd, etc., etc. Many of the mid 80's/90's bands are better too - Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, to name a few. Live? Never seen them live Album? Women And Children First Song? Don't have one Member? Don't have one
  12. Great show! Have it under a few different titles. The recent one being "Keep Taking The Pills"
  13. THEM CROOKED VULTURES - Spinning In The Daffodils My favorite live version. How Jones & Grohl play together here is,IMO, remeniscent of what Bonham & Jones had done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smWsO7X4Rh4
