well, i've been moaning on sometime now about all my aches and pains .... sorry!
had a full body scan and blood tests ....
arthritis everywhere ....
shoulder, knee, ankle .... and my back! ouch!
gonna try using anti-inflammatory meds regularly for 6 weeks or so, and if no improvement, i can have those injections Ally talked about ....
wish me luck, i don't like needles much ......
Sorry to hear about your arthritis Slave and hopefully, being on a steady diet of anti inflammatory meds for a while, you'll feel some relief . They can take a while to kick in so don't give up on them too soon. If it does come down to getting the injections, don't fret. They'll freeze the area and outside of certain body parts feeling like they're going to explode....you won't notice a thing.... ..joking

Seems that a weird twist of karma gave me two dates with two Zep-loving redheads next week.
Let us know if you need any help with that

Haven't been on this thread in a while. Just forgot about it.
I'm in the Golf Channel Fantasy League and last week did pretty well. We have 10 of us at work in it and I won last week. My 4th win of the year, but I've had too many bad weeks as I'm only 8th overall with that many wins. What was more amazing was that I had two of my four players cut and picked Justin Rose and Jason Day at 1st and tied for 2nd. I actually finished tied for 27th on the entire Golf Channel Pool out of over 34,000 entrants. Not bad! Can't expect this too often!
Well done Super Dave With the British Open coming up in a few weeks, I'd say both Justin Rose and Jason Day would be good picks again .

Horrendous Ally. Thankfully all was OK? Though Momo looked less than impressed?
I'm afraid the way the climate is changing, these stories are only going to get more frequent. Only recently parts of Europe were under water when the Danube broke it's banks. Here in the UK we had awful flooding last summer and to be honest things don't look that great this year. Scientists are blaming the warming of the North Atlantic for the changing weather patterns. The arctic ice shelf is melting at an alarming rate and if the UK loses the influence of the Gulf Stream we are all fucked as it will be a mini ice age. Many wine growers will be praying for a warm dry summer as last year hardly any wine was produced, mainly in the south of England. If things go the way of last year many will be out of business. A worrying trend that's for sure?
Yep, climate change is certainly wreaking havoc all over the world. In this case, it's a biproduct of a tropical storm front coming up from the south meeting with a storm front from the north. The heavy rains forced a rapid melt of the snow cap in the Rockies and more than another 100ml of rain are expected over the next 2 days. There are already highways in south eastern BC that are closed but if that expected rain materializes, most of the Kootenay region of the province will probably be looking at events similar to those in Alberta

My thoughts go out to all of those in Calgary and southern Alberta hit by flash flooding.

My wife always ordered Vodka and cranberry when we were out. I am sure they dont give you Grey Goose unless you ask. Smooth as silk. If you are going to spend the money on quality booze like Grey Goose, its more sensible to drink it straight. I would like to try a shot of that honey JD? Even though I am not a big fan of JD, but I know its very good stuff, the way its made, the process and all. I also want to try Blue or Green Label Johnny Walker scotch. I was a scotch drinker. Now I would probably stick with Vodka, Grey Goose Orange. Or absolute Mandarin. I like red wine, Fransican is one of my favs from Napa. Cabernet. And then beer. OMG. So many I like. Blue Moon, exports like Boddington, Guiness, German beers, Molson right from Canada.
These days my wife allows herself one drink whether we're out or at home. It's usually vodka cranberry or a belini. Once in a while, a cold beer. It's a far cry from when we first met when she could drink me under the table

Cheers Ally and my fellow golfers. How is your back now Ally? Should be loosening up now the summer is here?
As frustrating as the game is, get this for sheer disbelief.
Sunday did a 4 ball better ball with a partner. 1 came in. I did the front 9 in 38 gross. Only dropped 2 shots off the back tees too.
Yesterday I took a newbie round to mark his card. Did the back 9 in 42 gross. Gross 80. Net 65.
Why the fuck can I not do that in a Major????
You said it yourself CP, it can be a very frustrating game. It humbled me at the best of times
The back is coming along thanks. I've started physio and some deep tissue massage but we're still quite a ways off from being strong enough to walk any kind of a distance without having to take a break. Can't see me even walking a course till next season at the earliest

Looks like the wicker basket has it's first casualty...Lee Westwood hit it and ball came back off the green about 30 yards or more! Bad luck for sure!
Yeah, what an odd situation . Then again, I'm kinda pumped about the tradition and the fact that the US Open could, for all intents and purposes, be decided by a basket ! I'd love for it to happen on the 18th on Sunday. The fate of it all

Saw them in 1993 when they openned for Robert Plant at the Orpheum in Vancouver. Thought they were great !

WARNING: MOMMY BRAG ALERT!
My teenaged daughter blew off an English review class to hear a Holocaust survivor speak.
I told her it was a wise choice.
She will remember the survivor's story 50 years from now. That review class won't mean a damn thing.
Yes, she will

What do you mean Vancouver doesn't have winter? Isn't the climate similar to that of Seattle, Washington? I know the latter city has winter because I've visited relatives who live there during the Christmas holidays. It didn't snow but it was certainly cold and damp.
Yes, Vancouver and Seattle have the same climate and winters are cold wet and windy but compared to the rest of the country, it's not winter . However, when we have an el nina winter, we usually end up with colder than usual temps and a lot more snow !

You know me well enough to know that I wouldn't make light of the injections if there really were something to worry about . They're a piece of cake and given the pain you're experiencing now, you'd enjoy the relief they bring. That said, I sincerely hope that the meds do the trick for you and that there is no need to visit the injection option
