I was speaking more of the Tiger-hate from the general public, not just specifically limited to this forum. Even so, I still detect a bit of schadenfreude from some people here when it comes to Tiger Woods.
Bring on The Open. Muirfield, here we come!
Tbh, the only thing I detected was a determination to see the rules of golf being applied and I seriously doubt anyone would have thought twice about saying something if it had been another golfer. Golf is all about rules and they apply to everyone who plays the game. Those of us who play, understand that so when we see a violation at the pro level, we're going to have an opinion. Nothing more

I don't see what the fuss is about, Woods did not really gain much of an advantage, if any with his drop shot six feet back. But what a shot to hit the pin in the first place.
But he did gain AN advantage and there in lies the problem. Golf may contain some silly rules to some but they are the rules, they are there for a reason and they should apply to everyone. Still, I'm not going to let this ruin my enjoyment today. I've always been a fan of Tiger on the course I just hope he doesn't win today

Thanks Rich, for keeping the tourney going. We'll see who makes it into Sunday. Amazing with Tiger. He probably should be DQd. Wonder if CBS, who is broadcasting this had anything to do it? They wouldn't be too happy if the Masters ruling committee DQd Tiger and not allowed him to play further. Tiger going for a win brings in big ratings and $$$ for CBS or whoever is doing the broadcast. Especially, for the top golf event of the year.
Tiger intentionally dropped his ball 2 yards back so he would land in front of the pin. To me that is cheating and he should of been DQ'd.
Jack wouldn't of done that.
He's gotten off with the two stroke penalty for two reasons. Firstly, the Masters committee deemed he did not do it intentionally allowing the new rule to come into play. Secondly, they claim they had already made their decision before Tigers post round comments and viewer call ins. However, Tigers post round comments certainly indicate that he did intentionally make his drop 2 yards further back. That definitely is cheating and regardless of what the Masters committee had deemed, Tiger , in the best interests of the game itself and the tournament, should have stepped up to the plate and withdrawn from the competition. If he ends up winning the tournament, it'll definitely be a tainted win for me but even if he doesn't, his continued participation has meant that another other golfer has missed out on an opportunity to play the weekend rounds and collect a paycheck for his efforts.

Thanks gang. I must say the view's pretty good up here.
I just woke up so I must investigate this Tiger Woods story. I've only just heard about it .
Seems the rules were changed last year and disqualification for signing the wrong card was replaced by a two stroke penalty for the offence itself. Fair enough but I have to say, I'm not happy with Tiger for not declaring it in the first place and having the judges rule on his score after the round. Not against the rules but not very classy

eeemmmm Ally. One rule for one?? I bet if it was anyone else they would be on the next plane home. What happens if he wins?? They will be much muttering in club houses around the globe, that's for sure.
Oh of course, well done Babs !! And respect to the ocean prowler for taking the time to do this. I will roll a fat one this evening in your honour
Totally agree CP. I'm just thinking that there has to be some good reason he's been allowed to continue because I'll be absolutely dumb founded and pissed if they've made up a rule exclusively for him. If they have and he wins the tournament, may as well throw all the rules of golf out the window. Tbh, this has already tainted the tourney for me. Good thing Tianglan Guan made the cut or I'd turn it off

Congrats Babs!
Well I see that Tiger did an improper drop on 15 yesterday and has been given a two-stroke penalty. Actually he should WD for intentionally trying to get an advantage, breaking the rules and signing an incorrect scorecard! We will see what happens....
Well, he's still in the tournament and sitting in second place at the moment. Have to say that after signing the wrong score card yesterday,I don't think he shouldn't be playing at all but there must be some rule exclusive to the Masters that I'm not aware of.

Picking up the pieces of an ended 7 year relationship.
Since I have no clue whether I should be happy or unhappy with the way I feel right now, I just post it here.
Any suggestions how to get a bit more sane, or how to "amuse" myself in this situation are always welcome.
Very sorry to hear this reswati. Yes, time does heal but trusted friends with your best interests at heart can be helpful too. Not a good time to do anything rash though. Sit back and allow yourself some time to heal before making any. That may sound a little lame but I think it's sound advice and advice that I've learned to listen to the hard way. Wishing you nothing but success and future happiness

I've looked at the 2nd round and all our teams....
Everyone except Babs had, one or more, guys not make the cut which means Babs is the winner of the pool lolllllllllll.
Babs, I guess a congrats is in order and I better figure out how to run the next pool in a better format........
All I can say is..."These guys aren't good" lolllllllllllllllllllllll. I will still post 2nd round results tomorrow..........what a downer this was...sorry everyone.
Congrats to Babs for picking a nice group of players and winning the pool
Nothing wrong with the way you ran the pool Rich. That's the Masters and we all know that Augusta can make the very best of golfers look bad. That's the beauty of the tournament. Thanks for stepping up to the plate and putting the pool together

RIP Jonathan Winters . You were way ahead of your time !

I'd like to see Fred win also . That Chinese kid is something else. Glad he made the cut . He should be fun to watch this weekend.
Sandy Lyle made the cut also . Cinderella Story!
Out of nowhere!!!!!
Yeah, what a great story the kid Tianglan Guan is ! A very likable young man and took his two stroke penalty with class. McDowell missing the cut has cost me a chance at the pool but this tourney is turning out to be one of the most interesting in years. Looking forward to some outstanding golf and rooting for Tianglan

Thanks Ally. Hows yourself? Are you progressing as to your liking? Funny as an addage. She was mentioning last evening that weed really helps.
I'm doing fine thanks and I'm glad Mrs CP has her own personal STOCK of pain relief

Mrs CP went to see a Physio today and will be starting her course next week. Ibuprofen and Paracetamol 3 times a day will help sooth the creaking in her neck and maybe free it up for a round of golf next week. Here's hoping she can get back to whooping me. ( on the couse that is!)
Her Job is now secure and she will be continuing as planned. We are happy about it and that can only be a good thing. She thanks all who has passed on best wishes.
That's excellent news CP. Happy for both of you
