  1. Agreed. I saw them also. Great show, way better than when I saw them with Sammy, but very scripted from other reviews I read. DLR has basically no other career at this point. I mean he was playing at the Universal Studios Mardi Gras soundstage before reforming with them.
  2. From what I have read, yes.
  3. Yep, that's the article I saw - just at a different site. I didn't recall Eddie saying for sure that DLR was going to be involved. Thank you for refreshing the story. I agree with losing Wolfy and bring back Michael, two separate camps now though. Hey there Zepp Fan Forever - ROCK ON back to ya! Your ending always makes me think of the part in Trampled Underfoot (NYC 2/12/75) when Robert lays out the "Rock On" echo and they erupt into that awesome jam!
  4. I had read that after Eddie gets married again this summer, they were going into the studio. No official word about Dave participating, but Eddie said that they do contact each other every now and then. I can't imagine Dave turning down an opportunity to work with Eddie again. We shall see.....
  5. Have A Cigar - Pink Floyd
  6. Shapes Of Things - Jeff Beck Group
  7. Darker Shade Of Blue - Xavier Rudd
  8. Bonzo was soooo bad ass! Thanks for the info. and pictures Sam and ledded 1
  9. I must agree with you again Miss Honeydripper - that was a hot picture! Love those eyes
  10. Money For Nothing - Dire Straits
  11. What You Want - John Butler Trio
  12. I know he played on David's solo disc released around '77 or '78, which was a tremendous release might I add. I do also know that Snowy was playing in the "seregate band" during The Wall tour and I believe he was playing backup at the Live 8 reunion. Anyway.....
  13. Waters does still come across quite smug. He scoffs at his lyrical work on Dark Side and other pieces of early work - which compared to his more recent stuff seems laughable. To each his own. I have seen the Floyd members collectively and solo, with the exception of Waters. His voice is certainly worse for the wear, as evident by his performance at Live Earth a couple of years ago.
  14. Meddle is a great disc and a very good representation of where they were at the time. Even if Seamus seems like a throw away track, it was them experimenting. I love whole disc because it wasn't over played like much of their music that follows Obscured By Clouds - which really links them to the Dark Side... sound they were beginning to create. As far as greedy, Roger was greedy with song writing/royalties credit at the end. But, he and Gilmour always made sure Syd's family received his money for their early stuff. Plus, Floyd never ripped off their fans like The Eagles and others have done since then. I think any greediness in the Floyd was just another war they were fighting within.
  15. Jane's Addiction and Nine Inch Nails - May 9.
  16. Amen to that! The Eagles are truely bullsh!t, money grubbing, ego maniacs - led by Frey/Henley of course. They don't sound the same at all without Felder, even having over 10 other musicians on stage with them now. It is too bad that Floyd (Waters) did what they did to each other - even he (Waters again) regrets that now. I also hear that Mason and Gilmour are not on the best of terms with each other currently.
  17. I honestly don't know what the answer is to your question. Since you have Pulse, did he use it on Keep Talking live?
  18. Went and saw Classic Albums Live: Led Zep - Physical Graffiti this past Sat. night and it was very good. They had up to 9 musicians playing at any given time, but they recreated the songs perfectly (even fading them out, when required). Four guitartists were used for Ten Years Gone. Then they did encores after: Moby Dick, How Many More Times, The Lemon Song, Communication Breakdown, Rock and Roll, and Whole Lotta Love. Very nice.
  19. Is this previously unreleased music? I'll have to check that out. Thanks.
  20. Because David didn't want to be known as a Peter Frampton clone!

    AC/DC

How's Brian Johnson's voice live these days? Seemed like he was losing his power in concerts I have listened to in the past. Just wondering.
  22. I had never put all of that together, either, until reading an interview with Waters about the Animals disc. Learn a little about the figures in British politics and rock out at the same time - what a concept!!
  23. Day Tripper - The Beatles
  24. Animals and Wish You Were Here are the BEST driving discs for a road trip! You can just get lost in them both. The earlier post on the early Floyd is right on. They were so different in their various stages of the group. Green Is The Colour is a great song, See Emily Play is one of my all time Floyd favorites (which apparently they never even played live, ever) and people should check out Atom Heart Mother. Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast is a wonderful piece, especially if you dig Richard Wright's piano playing, Summer of '68 is another great Wright piece, If is classic Waters and Fat Old Sun is some great early Gilmour. There is so much to listen to when it comes to the Floyd - not just Comfortably Numb and Money all the time! After their reunion gig, I went back and bought each disc in its remastered form from Piper onward to listen to the progression (had most on vinyl or tape). As a result I made 5 compliation discs (I called them The Pinkest Of All Floyd Vol. I - V) blending in different songs from all the different time periods. It is amazing how well Syd's songs go along with Gilmour's from the Division Bell, etc. Also, The Final Cut's songs are much better as individual songs in the context of other Floyd songs, than as its own disc. Anyway, they were truely an amazing band from beginning to end.
