PAGE AND PLANT HAVE SEALED THEIR FATES IN THE HOLES OF MY WILL. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO KNOW WHAT YOU DO NOT KNOW. ONLY ATTEMPT TO SUBMIT. THERE YOU WILL FIND PEACE. ZUR EN ARRH

    ANOTHER CRACKPOT.

    Pack yourself another bong mate!

  2. Actor Richard Harris owned Tower House just prior to Jimmy. It was auctioned off for

nearly 400,000 pounds, with Jimmy outbidding David Bowie. So far as I know the home

had never fallen into a state of neglect such as Boleskine House and Hammerwood.

According to Harris, whom loved to tell tales of Tower House, the tower was haunted by an eight-year-old boy who had been buried in the tower. The boy often kept Harris awake at night until one day he built a nursery for the boy to play in, which calmed the disturbances to some extent. I imgaine we can file this one under believe it...or not.

Richard was always off with the "spirits"! ;)

  3. Hot 44C.

Killer fires in Victoria, arson suspected and 60 fires in NSW.

The fire at Peats Ridge is just up the road from where Slave to Zep lives.

    I hope she's ok.

35 dead just outside of Melbourne and our thoughts are with the victims.

A couple of thousand km's away torrential rain and flooding with people missing and a suspected crocodile attack on a young boy.

  4. Jeff Beck last night.

First of all what a player and a a kick arse band backing him.

The sound and lighting were brilliant in a small venue.

He played all instrumental pieces covering his solo career, and that's the rub.

As good as his playing, the sound and tightness of the band were there was something missing, vocals.

I was hoping he would play some of the old stuff from the Yardbirds like Shapes of Things etc.

I now know who Eddie "borrowed" some of his tricks from!

It was a good gig but not great and I am grateful I finally got the opportunity to see and hear a true guitar legend in action.

If you get the chance go see him.

  5. You suck! It's 5 degrees F here in Connecticut and you're over in Australia getting a suntan and having a frosty tropical beverage. Let's trade! Just don't rub it in next time!

    5 degrees eh?

    Better put on the thermals!

Yesterday it was about 115F here.

Ok, I'll just go and get another COLD beer and have one for you too while I'm soaking in the pool! :D

    Keepa B) in baby!

  6. Thanks, dear! B)

    LMFAO! :lol::lol::lol:

I see your girlfriend got themselves banned. :o

BTW it had nothing to do with me.

I never got to read any of your / their pearls of wisdom as they were taken down quicker than a brides nightgown on her wedding night.

    PM me if you like.

  7. so that would have been around 78/79? any stories you can share?

Yeah a few, though for the most part I was usually drunk and / or stoned!

I'll have to get back to you on that!

They played extensively during that time, sometimes four or five gigs a week.

  8. All your questions will be answered here.

As for AC/DC vs. Led Zeppelin.

No contest, it's Led Zeppelin first - daylight second.

AC/DC lost their "spark" when Bon passed away.

My best mate and I would virtually spend our weekends checking out bands, at Chequers in Sydney on Friday nights where they were the house band and played for hours and hours.

Saturday nights we would go to The Bondi Lifesaver, which was the mecca of all the best bands from Oz and elsewhere.

One night a band (you may be familiar with, GNR were), Rose Tattoo was playing and Angus and Bon Scott joined them for a set of classic rock 'n' roll tunes.

This is the AC/DC I like, not the show ponies who think thay need bells, cannons and locomotives breaking through walls to present their music.

I like Brian as a singer, one of my favourite albums back in the day was Geordies' Don't Be Fooled By the Name.

I was at the same concert where Bon Scott said he was impressed with the band and particularly Brian.

Back In Black was a step in the right direction, but was short lived and they went backwards after that.

Led Zeppelin had more creativity than AC/DC could ever dream to have.

    No-one comes near them live.

The concert I saw, well, there wasn't even a light show!

    Sometimes less is more.

They along with Pink Floyd created "Stadium Rock Shows" complete with images, mirror balls, pyrotechnics, dry ice, fog / smoke machines, lighting banks, and of course Jimmy's laser beams and all the time with subtley and class.

First and foremost this is a Led Zeppelin forum, so while it won't be all one sided you should expect some sort of backlash when you go on about how this band is better than

    that band.

Particularly when it's anti-Zeppelin, or the members therein.

    Welcome.

Enjoy your stay but just try to keep everything in perspective.

  9. No doubt, the exchange rate is a factor and Oz is a country that I've alway's wanted to go too. I've been told that I actually have family there as my grandfather apparently was a bit of a rogue in his navy day's .

Rorer, Orlando would be a nice option too. I may have to escape the Olympic Games next year so

    who know's.

I appreciate the warm welcome from both of you....Thanks

    An "able semen", eh? :D

    You're most welcome!

  10. Maybe not as beautiful but Orlando is closer and probably cheaper ally!!!! ;)

    G'day Rorer,

It's more economical than you think!

    1 CAN$ = 0.82 USA$

    1 CAN$ = 1.20 AUS$

    1 USA$ = 1.46 AUS$

Air fares and accomodation are cheap as chips at the moment, so if you booked and paid now for next year you'd save a motza.

Way cheaper than flying to North America!
