  1. Guitarworld 1986 Jimmy Page Special Issue....

Rodney Bingenheimer......... Re: Page/Led Zep... Las Vegas 1969

"He was always looking for a lot of weird guitars: every kind of antique guitar there ever was he'd collect.

And of course he was a big Elvis fan. I arranged for him and the whole band to go to Las Vegas and go to the OPENING OF ELVIS PRESLEY. On each table was a boxed set of Elvis Presley records called 1969 which now go for $500. They each got one of those little boxes and they got to meet Elvis."

I will Scan the Article in Entourage Thread ............(Master Forum)

  2. It's on the first page of the thread and at the following link.

    ledzeppelin.com/show/august-11-1969

...tks for posting this link E.L...I have read this already, sorry, I meant the Elvis Site....I was reading/looking at photos on Elvis Site for any Zep/Las Vegas Connection...Elvis Associate Jerry Schilling seems to be intriguing.... :D

P.S. there is no chance of Jimmy/Elvis Photo, as Miss P. writes, see Previous Post, Jimmy did not want to meet Elvis...I doubt he met him in 1969.... :D :D

    Further,

Catherine James - "Dandelion" also does not mention this Las Vegas Concert - Both Pam and Catherine dated Jimmy relatively in the same time frame....

  4. Thanks for posting all those, Knebby, it's great to see that slice of history! Especially as I never managed to see the Firm. :(

And thanks for posting those articles, Thozil. :)

tks Aqua for the writing....same feelings here...(I was very removed from the 80's music scene...didn't follow much anybody...but reading this entire thread...one of my fav's...I realized how brilliant Jimmy is...but it was just sign of times...new generations and new music...I will say this bit about the 80's....it was time of confusion for music industry in general....

But again, Page is brilliant looking at his performances... :D

Paul Rodgers is fine too...really not much to complain or to criticize for the sake of criticism...

    :D

....anyhow, the 80's were a life-changing experience for me....I was for sure in a different world.....

  5. Miss P...I am with Band..

August 12....Anaheim Stadium, 8,500 screaming raging people, a twenty five minute standing ovation...........Jimmy and I smoked and drank at the The Ex and went back to the hotel....

........We're off to Vegas now to see Mr. Presley.........

We stayed in the elegant suite with a king-sized bed up on a platform, and sat right in the front row to see the King reclaim his throne. He was wearing black leather and looked like ten gree Gods as he tore through "Love me Tender,"Don't be cruel, and jailhouse rock.".........He was sweating, he was in the flesh, he was alive, inhaling and exhaling. And there I was in Vegas, breathing the same air as Elvis Presley, sitting with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, completely and entirely beside myself. Some sideburned grease monkey appeared after the show, asking Jimmy if he would like to meet Elvis. He said "No", thank you," and I never quite got over it....

    .........

Prior to August 12, and after August 6...she also writes....On his day off, we stayed in my bedroom, listening to the test pressing of Led Zeppelin II over and over again while he took reams of notes.........

    not edited...

  6. How about Stevie Nicks?

    Christine McVie could play keyboards.

And of course we need Jonesy on bass.

    And Jason on drums.

I love Carlos, too. It would be fantastic to see him jam with Jimmy.

Did you see Carlos jamming with Eric Clapton during one of Eric's Crossroads concerts? It was fantastic. They played Jingo.

And people, we are not being serious about this, by the way. :D

    Yes Stevie, Christine...fantastic idea

...The video is just fantastic...so beautiful...How I wish "HE" was there too...

  7. I loved The Firm.

I hate to say it, but I was more of a Paul Rodgers fan back in the day than a Jimmy fan.

Now I guess I would consider myself one of the Pagettes. :D

...Welcome, there is always room for Pagettes. I love the Firm too. I don't mind Paul Rodgers, however, Freddie Mercury remains my fav.

I wish for the millionth time that Beloved Mr. Page would collaborate again, how about another idea? :D with Robert and Carlos Santana and any Female Artist of their choice... :D

  8. OMG! I couldn't shut my mouth when I saw these! It just hung open, I sure was looking so stupid... They're great! And thanks for the link with the trailer!

thank you Moonmaid...He is so very. very beautiful...timeless...

  9. Sorry, PP, I only just read this post!

I can't think of any specific readings, I must admit. But a poll would certainly be interesting, in terms of what fans are called in different countries.

I think we know what Evster's vote would be! ^^ ;)

...No need to be sorry Aqua.... agreed, most definitely, the country is important, and yes, it looks like Evster is all set to go with the LedHeads...... :D

  10. I'm sure they are correct--but they have couches in hotels too!

However, as Spacewoman said, it doesn't really matter. :)

....Right it is for both, Robert or Jimmy...doesn't matter where we encounter them........ ;)

I read Miss P's book (Secrets of the Groupies) and I recall Michelle Overman mentioning that Robert went to this restaurant and she was noticed there by him...it was a Jewish Dairy Restaurant...

I am pretty sure Gettyimages is correct....Pic taken 2nd North American Tour '69 Hyatt House.

I believe there was also a dairy restaurant next door...perhaps, the milk carton came from there...

(it is mentioned in one of Pam Debarres Books)

  12. Never seen before , scanned for first time and pulled from an old shoebox today ----

Rochester and Albany 88 JP Outrider pictures from floor section.

JP in black is Albany NY and brown is Rochester NY.

...thanks for the memorable pic's. I must admit, I was little less in touch with 80's music scene in general, (life changing experiences, different world, + The 70's were pretty "Hot and Sexy") :D It took only 2-3 years before I came to my senses...90's on, I was back on track with ZEP...... :D :D

Some more 80's James Patrick Page.

  13. Seems to be mostly "Zep" in English-speaking countries, and "Led" in non-English-speaking countries.

Don't know why, really, just an observation! :D

........Aqua, I have yet to come across a book/articles that identifies name for the fans - they are mostly refer to as young fans. Do you think it is a good idea to conduct a poll and see what fans think in different countries of the two names mentioned with "others" category. Can you think of any readings that might have referred to Zep/Led Heads...?

    tks..

  14. Good question, Aqua. I can't speak for others, but I use the term "silver fox" because it is a common term for any man who is sexually attractive in his mature years. His hair has turned color, revealing his age, wisdom, experience. The exact color does not matter. And "white fox," although more correct, isn't the common term. Hope this helps.

.......Very Interesting conversation ladies, good question, good answer....... :D :D

  15. Something I found on Royal Orleans. I almost fainted...:wub::wub:

tks spacewoman...It's that classic green shirt. I hope there are more in GREEN COLOR.......

  16. Grateful Dead fans are known as Deadheads, is there any equivalent term for Led Zeppelin fans? If not, we should choose one.

    Zepheads, maybe?

...that is the best one, I think this is already "chosen" and done with.......

In spirit of Zeppelin's creative music.......

    Zepsy's

    I also heard Leddies, ........

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet
