Very cool my friend. Thanks for posting. Been a while since we talked. I still do my annual NYE ritual and you know what that is!

Yes I do!!! Same over here Dave. Let's keep in touch

  2. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss performed @ the Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport Louisiana 4/26/23.A very nice and intimate venue. Here is a haunting version of "When the Levee Breaks" incorporating a snippet of "Friends" in the mix.

On Friday April 28th they performed at Jazz Fest (opening day) at 5:30pm to a huge crowd.

Later that evening Plant made his way to the Preservation Hall. If I had to guess, he had just as much fun performing low key. Here he is with the Preservation Hall band singing lyrics from another time. There is another video of this from the front of the stage that has gone viral on Instagram.

2023 has started off with a lot of deaths around me (family, pets, friends) and some of each of our favorite musicians.

    I hope things get better.

Been listening to some Jethro Tull lately (but never forgetting about my Zep for long).

    Peace from Louisiana

Wow! Rock Historian is still alive. Yes, those shirts are hard to find nowadays. Most were worn to tatters and thrown away. I never wore mine but all those '80s era shirts seem to shrink even just sitting in a box. It must be the cotton content.

Steve, this is an XL but has shrunk over time and fits like a medium or smaller large which is another reason I bought it. The shirt is in perfect condition. Cotton.

I have seen these go up for $150-200 that have holes and tears.

I managed to get this one for $70. Still a lot of money for a shirt but considering what it means to me, I had to get it.

  5. Hey everyone!

This shirt is a replacement for the original one I got from the concert in 1988. It was lost in Hurricane Katrina 17 years ago. I had searched for the shirt on various sites since then and today was a good day receiving this!

    Have a great weekend

I don't know about best, but my fav post Zep recording from Page is "Heaven Knows". 1988 was a special year for both Page and Plant - it really felt like an awakening of sorts. That track has a "quality" to it .. to my ears, it's the most magic/mysterious/Zeppy thing either one has done post Zep.

In terms of live performance, I love all the shows I saw (Outrider, twice in 95, once in 98), but the Oakland Coliseum Outrider show is my fav. The playing just sounds better to my ears, and it was a really great night.

I remember the energy and excitement that year for both Page and Plant albums and tours. It was electric.

MTV played a big part in advertizing/airplay, and again in 1990 for the Boxed Set.

For me it's a toss up between some of the P&P performances and the Black Crowes featuring Jimmy Page. I will say the Crowes only because I feel it is a testament to what he could do with back up guitars behind him, though you really need to stick to a script in that format. Jimmy doesn't like sticking to a script and most of us don't want to hear him stick to one either. But I'd say Ten Years Gone, Custard Pie, Sick Again and In My Time of Dying are the best live performances of these songs. And as for Page & Plant, The Rain Song perfomance has no equal on this planet and of the other live shows, albeit mostly scripted as well, has video on youtube of the New Orleans' concert where Jimmy very much went off script and the best of that set definitely, probably the best version of Heartbreaker you'll ever hear. When you consider how many great performances of that song exist, that's saying something.

I was at those New Orleans shows in 95 and 98

  8. Welcome to the KISS "we need ya money now more than ever, we fooled you again, we are not going anywhere yet, we will keep promoting that it's the last world tour until you stop coming, I can't believe you all thought we were a good rock band, we promised this will be the last one, End of the Road"  -Tour
