  1. At first I drew a blank and then started to remember seeing the Chicago Bulls play at the Chicago Stadium in the 1980's and watched a volley ball game at the LA Forum in the 1990's. I MosDef was picturing Zeppelin at one end of the stadium rocking out during their many shows at those locations.

Most recently I visited Laugardalsholl Hall in Reykjavik, Iceland.

  2. So I was listening to the 10 February 1975 show in Landover yesterday and was listening to Robert's plantation just before The Song Remains The Same. I think their travels through Asia are pretty well documented. But I've never seen any photo's or info posted about the members of Led Zeppelin traveling through the Middle East?

I totally get them going to Asia during the 1970's but heading to Kuwait (or other countries in the region) is a real head scratcher - even though Plant mentions Kuwait in a couple of other shows. Thoughts......

Everything is manufactured today, overproduced with all emotion removed.

Agree to some extent i.e. pop music, but not 100%. I have this discussion with ppl all the time. There is great music and art being made today. As relevant and important as the Beatles/Stones/Zeppelin were making back in the day. The difficult part is you have to really search for it. If you look in the right places and put the effort into your search, you can still find really great music/art today.

  4. The Blueberry Hill show has been my absolute favorite since I first bought the bootleg around 1985. As you all know it's an amazing performance. That being said I could not imagine (after playing that show) going to ANOTHER gig and playing/performing again the same night. I just looked at the tour itinerary and it looks like they had the day off on the 5th (surely needed) before playing a show in Honolulu on the 6th and then playing in Boston three days later on the 9th.

One thing for sure - Led Zeppelin worked their asses off to give us some of the most amazing concerts in rock and roll history!

    Rock on good people!

    "For What It's Worth"

Man did Robert really like this song - from the Band of Joy through Zeppelin in 1975 (I'm not aware of him singing it beyond 1975)... I'd love to ask him what was it about the song that he liked so much (I guess the answer is obvious). Curious if anyone knows if he's ever spoken about his love for the song or Buffalo Springfield?

  6. You'd have to think at the very least - If Playboy ranked Karen Carpenter as a better drummer than Bonzo - there'd have to be some mention of Peart somewhere in "legit" music papers like Rolling Stone, Cream, Circus, etc. In fact I found a fan site with magazine covers from the 1970's that include Rush.

Plus the two photos I know of with Plant & Page reading Cream - It's possible that the entire band knew of Rush - but what they thought of them is a different story.

  7. The acoustic sections have always been one of my favorites of the Led Zeppelin experience and wish they would have done it during the 73 US tour. The acoustic sets gave the band and audience a brief cool down period before tearing it up again. Plus the Plantions between the numbers were always interesting. I don't know of any other artist that could hold 20,000+ people in the palm of their hand like Plant did during these times.
