  1. Yeah if I didn't know better I'd say people are clearly taking the piss, which is nice since so many of the pics they repost were actually provided by people who have asked if this can be just a PHOTO thread (and I don't mean just me :) ).

The really sad thing is that when the piss is being taken the thread sounds much the same as before--some things you just can't exaggerate. Ah well--this was a great thread before it was hijacked ( a damn shame for everybody else--especially, as you say, those actually responsible for originally scanning and posting many of these pics. <_< I'm grumpy too, and I didn't scan any of them!)

  2. For the topic, I guess you guys won't mind another guitarist here. :D

    I certainly won't! :D

He's very talented, Spacewoman, and I hope we all get to see the movie sometime SOON!

  3. Yeah, we need Jimmy's hotness, I'm on this thread to drool, don't know about others. :D:drool:

I think that's why Knebby and glicine suggested you might like to do that in its own thread, so that this can return to being a picture thread. :)

  4. OK, now the thread is back on track! Great! :D Less romance, more Jimmy.

    hmm...

I wanted to say there's some questionabLe information in the book..for exampLe, "everyone is in Love with me" attitude..

Second issue: most of the peopLe Look Like they don't Like bdsm stuff, because they think it's humiLiation. But it's just a game. a very good game. very. :bagoverhead::blink:

Sorry, I still don't understand how your view on the second issue connects with your view on Miss Pamela (or how you know this is questionable), since the two seem to be contradictory. But it's not very important I think, so let's drop it. :D

  5. Oh, look, Jimmy managed to get a reserved seat. :D I like your pic better than the Getty pics--no watermark, for one thing!

I often wonder why that is? What's wrong with her? She was a big part of Jimmy's life and they have now a granddaughter together. Why mentioning her seems to upset people? I really don't understand.

Mentioning her doesn't upset people.

  6. you're weLcome, evergreen;)

oh yes, I read her book too, Aquamarine- some of things ( incLuding taht specific "omg everyone is in Love with me" attitude) are quite questionabLe. Most of the peopLe thinks bdsm stuff is humiLiation, not an amazing game :lol: .

I'm afraid I don't see how her distaste for whips reveals an "OMG everyone is in love with me" attitude, and I don't understand the rest of your post, sorry. It seems to refer to s&m, but it also seems to be agreeing with Miss Pamela.

  7. Maybe we all ladies need a little bit of fairy tale romance- because the real life is sometimes not so amusant :(

It is such a harmless thing to make the day a little more pleasant- everybody needs a little dream about the prince riding on the white horse! ( I cannot live without my dreaming :) )

I think Knebby was talking about making Jimmy's relationship with Charlotte (a relationship most frequently described as "volatile") sound like a fairy-tale romance. Apologies (again!) if I'm wrong, Knebby.

Oh, and I'm just taking Miss Pamela at her word, oyq. :)

  8. Isn't Jimmy married to someone else now (or I think he is), someone from Brazil (or somewhere in South America).

Who is Charlotte? (sorry I'm new here!).

    I don't think you're that new, though.

  9. His hair, too, just looks--a mess. He just doesn't look like the world-conquering rock star with his hands on his hips and his chest thrown out, the way we knew him. (Edited to add--kinda touching that one of his few appearances was on a children's show, too. Although all the adults I knew used to watch it too!)

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

JK - at least you corrected yourself! xxxxxxx

(and sadly it isn't made in Newcastle anymore - tho it certainly was back then)

:thanku: Your forgiveness is indeed a relief, as I was without a Plan C. :D

  10. All of your jazz fusion artists (Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, Traffic, Chicago......) all contributed to the development of rock. As much as blues and 'simple' punk rock did.

I have a punk rock album as my avatar and a tribute to a prog band in my signature. both shaped rock as much as the other.

    Miles is jazz fusion???

  11. Name one woman who wouldn't like to be whipped by such a gentleman. :D

    Miss Pamela, for one. ;)

(Btw, most young guys referred to their wives/girlfriends as their ladies at the time--a lot from that generation still do. Just FYI.)

  12. Oops, guess I need to brush up on my English ales as well as my English geography. :D

So do I, jeez--I'll tell you what just happened here! I was thinking about the fact that I spent a good part of my college years drinking Newcastle Brown, in Liverpool in the NORTHWEST, which is where I automatically associate the stuff with. Of course, you were quite right to say it's made in Newcastle in the Northeast. Sorry, songbird! Sorry, Knebby!

    *crawls into hole*

  13. I know, it's all my fault. :( I should've said anything.

Only he is now saying it in What made you Unhappy Today too.

And the small things part was in memory of our dear Sir Chris, who had a similar thread title. Come to think of it...where are you Sir Chris???

Yes, I remember that--and also I remember that Sir Chris made a reappearance, and has now disappeared again. :(

  14. I wonder if "medium" things can make one happy. I'm kinda baffled on this...

Well, the thread subtitle only gives you a choice of big or small things to be happy about--but I'm pretty sure I've often been happy about medium things. A productive day at work seems sort of medium, as opposed to finding a tube of toothpaste in the cabinet so I don't have to buy a new one, which would be a small thing, or meeting Robert Plant, which would be a big thing.

I don't know if the first Ledzep, sorry, THE FIRST LEDZEP, sees it that way, though.

  15. yeah, the actual post with the poem is gone, but it's still there in a quote from aquamarine. anyway, i guess it will be buried soon, those young girls are prolific poets!

I'll go and see if I can find that post and delete that bit. Sorry guys!

Couple minutes later: Rats! I can't edit that post, as it was made too long ago. Additional apologies. :( I quoted the thing just to show what I was objecting to. Well, hopefully you're right, slave to zep, and it'll be buried soon.
