FireOpal
The solar flare from last Sunday (if I understand correctly) is allowing people in northern Europe, from Norway to Ireland, to view the northern lights. Lucky swine! Any forum members able to see them? Do share. I'm very envious; it's my dream to see this phenomenon someday. http://www.csmonitor.com/Science/2012/0125/Massive-radiation-storm-produces-spectacular-northern-lights-video
The_Minxter
yes I heard about this too, they could have be seen from up in Donegal, I think also parts of north coast of Antrim. If I knew about this earlier, i'd be up in the car.
FireOpal
Maybe you will - IrishCentral (a web site I subscribe to) says conditions are favorable for it to go on until March.
JimmyPageZoSo56
I saw the Northern Lights when I was a kid and since then I've become obsessed with them. I recently downloaded an app for my phone called Aurora Buddy and it tells you when and where the Northern Lights will be visible and how strong they will be; Low, Moderate, etc. They're becoming more observable because of the sun's recently solar activity. It's the most active it has been in five years.
