Strider
When I returned from my trip recently, I decided to make the rounds of my local record stores to see if anything interesting came in while I was away. At one place, rheir Zeppelin section was pretty depleted and I was just turning to leave when something caught my eye in the rack above. It was a rather large(for a cd), square package that had a stylized artwork of the band and lettering that said Led Zeppelin Fillmore West 1969. On the back it described the contents as being 2 cds containing the April 27, 1969 Fillmore West Soundboard. Only "White Summer/BMS" was missing. Since it was only $14.95 for 2 cds, I took a chance and bought it, even though I already have this show on the "Blue Flame" cd and on vinyl. When I got home and opened the shrinkwrap, I discovered that it didn't open like a normal cd or album. The whole thing was held together by a screw in the lower right hand corner, whereby the cover slid over the bottom part holding the cds. The cds are silvers, not cd-r, but there's no record label info or date. What info there is on the discs is in Italian, so it comes from Italy...probably from the 90s, when a lot of boots were coming out of Europe. But a search of the internet turned up no solid information about this boot...it's provenance or anything. It sounds great...whoever put it out didn't mess about with the eq of the original soundboard like some current labels. I was wondering if anyone here recognizes this boot and has info on when it came out, the generation of the Soundboard used, and the label who issued this. Considering the packaging is a costly and unique way of issuing a cd, this must have been a limited issue.
Melcórë
A quick search of ZeppelinArt brings this up. No other info, though.

Strider
Thanks for the info. It's an odd little duck. But it's exactly why I will always collect live shows in physical format as opposed to downloads.
Autumnlake
This box reminds me of something Tarantura would do back in there early days. Maybe the Italians were showing people that they can do it to. It just shows what a little heart and pride in product can achieve!
