JethroTull Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 I am Jewish, so this topic is allowed. If you are overly sensitive stop now. Matisyahu lived a suburban life on Long Island dabbling in rap music.. He eventually converted to Orthodox Judaism and incorporated reggae into his show due to the religious overtone in Bob Marley's music . I watched a show on PBS last week about Jewish Americans. They devoted about 10 minutes to Matisyahu. I've hear a lot about him, but never pursued his music. I really like it. http://www.matismusic.com/ Quote

Peep Solero Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Yes, he's quite good. I had the privilege to see him back in June 2006, he was the opening act for Sting's Broken Music Tour at the Ramat-Gan stadium in Tel-Aviv, Israel. They did a mean rendition of Roxanne- one of the most beautiful versions I've ever heard, I wish someone would have bootlegged it. The show started lame but after that song- the crowd was so pumped up, it was unbelievable! Quote
alinds Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 I dig Matisyahu. Nothing groundbreaking but very listenable. Quote
