Always lookin for new bands, and every board could use a recommendation thread, so howsa bout it?

Recommend and give a brief description of their music, to give people an idea what they are about, or post a youtube or somethin.

Here's mine:

Modest Mouse- it falls under the indie umbrella, but don't let that turn ya off, sorta layered sound and they work some out of the ordinary instrumentation, a unique singer, pretty good lyrically far as I can tell

Genre: Blues-rock.

The Black Keys

Best album: Magic Potion or Thickfreakness. Most people favor Rubber Factory though.

Genre: People label them as blues-rock.

Years active: 2001 - present

You probably have heard something from them--their songs are everywhere but on the radio (for me, anyway).

Best album: One Day Remains

Genre: Rock/some kind of metal, maybe.

Years active: 2004 - present

You might have heard that they're descendants of Creed. That's true, but unlike Creed, they are excellent. Creed + Myles Kennedy - Scott Stapp = amazing.

Gavin DeGraw

Best album: Chariot, but until April of this year it's the only one.

Genre: Not sure, I guess he'd be pop. He's great though.

Years active: 2003 - present

You probably have heard his 'I Don't Want To Be', that song was huge a few years ago. If you liked that, you would not be disappointed with the rest of his debut album.

Ryan Adams

Best album: Love Is [H], if you ask me. It's the only one I really like.

Genre: Alternative country (I'm not sure what that is, but a lot of people love him)

Ian Moore

Favorite song: Nothing

Best album: Ian Moore

Genre: He's done all kinds of things, but my favorite material from him is his blues-rock stuff (which as far as I know was just one album).

Years active: 1993 - present

I always related him to Kenny Wayne Shepherd, but his self-titled album is way better than anything Shepherd's done in my opinion. I generally don't like Shepherd's music though.
