IIRC "In My Time Of Dying" wasn't played that night because there was a hockey game on the 8th (the Blackhawks were in the playoffs); Zeppelin had to finish by 11pm, thus resulting in a slightly truncated show. I wouldn't be surprised if they took a raincheck on Bonham's drum solo as well. I bet Page kept the Noise Solo short too. Hard to say, unless we get confirmation from someone who was actually there...the available audience recording is missing quite a bit.

Nice pix, though...that 'blouse' thing Plant was wearing looks gawdawful, though

I attended this show and the other 3 Led Zeppelin shows performed at the Chicago Stadium during Zeppelin's 1977 U.S. tour. The April 7th show was the tightest of their Chicago stay. Especially compared to the looser and much longer opening night show. The Black Hawks playoff game did require them to be done at a punctual time, so no In My Time Of Dying or Trampled Under Foot that night. But the drum solo was performed that night.

Thanx for the confirmation, Chicago.

IMO the April 6 show still sorta had a 'live rehearsal' feel to it. The 7th is pretty good, but I'd still give the edge to the April 10 show; I actually think it's one of the best '77 shows. Jimmy bounced back from his 'gastroentritis' (cough) quite nicely...
