  1. Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley - Robert Palmer
  2. A CHRISTMAS STORY. "You'll shoot your eye out."
  3. Absolutly not LarryD, but most of the men I know are in the automotive field and therefore obsessed with tools, etc but can be in touch with their sensitive side. One mechanic that works for my husband loves to read romantic novels, which seems out of character to me, but he is no less a man. I think men can show a sensitive side and still have their masculinity intact. On the other hand I do try to get in touch with my masculine side once in a while. I like to drink beer and watch football. Does that make me less of a woman?
  4. New Moon on Monday - Duran Duran
  5. ^^^ I agree Dzldoc. He was possessed and obsessed. I see they deleted the "Pedro" thread . I had asked if he needed an exorsist or and inteventionist. Gave up and went to bed thinking he will be banned by his hostile posting.
  6. Elvis did as well as Rick Nelson. So did Frank Sinatra, Bow Wow Wow and Ub40,Etta James, Tommy Dorsey and Doris Day apparantly. The lyrics were written in 1940 by Johnny Mercer and Rube Bloom.
  7. Fools Rush In - Elvis Presley
  8. Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime - Dean Martin
  9. That would be yours truly, aka ledzepfvr.
  10. Over The Hills And Through The Woods, To Grandmother's House We Go. Numerous Artists
  11. Yes, Dzldoc you would love it as any man would. Especially the workshop that has anything needed to restore and work on the vehicles. Jay works on his cars as well as a staff who helps him. It was an awsome experience. Below is an article I wrote for our car club newsletter in case your interested in reading. http://goldenstate.ply33.com/newsArticle?article_id=134
  12. Yes we did. It was in the shop area where they work on the vehiclss and was fired up while we were there. He has an amazing collection of vehicles and I was lucky to have been able to see his vehicles. Didn't get to meet Jay though. Edited for correction: In re-reading my article that I listed a link to below, it was the Rolls Royce jet engine that they were working on in the shop that was fired up, not the motorcycle. We did see that motorcycle and many more he has in his collection While the experience was memorable the details become a bit fuzzy as time goes by. Good thing I documented it in my article and have lots of pictures. In the 70's I could blame lack of memory on too much weed, now it's just age.
  13. Me at Leno's Garage a couple of years ago.
  14. The president of the company I work for let me know what a good job I was doing after he had met with an auditor who reviewed my work. That doesn't happen very often. Then I had my hours cut, i.e. pay cut, a full day of pay when we had a Dr. appt taken away (one of the few perks we had) and a sonic wall slapped onto my computer so as to limit internet access. Of course, alot of others at work got the same treatment. But hey, at least I still have a job.
  15. Full Winter Moon -December over Greenland
  16. If You Like Pina Coladas - Jimmy Buffet
  17. Went out shopping today with my daughter. We purchased a crate load of stuff for an Adopt A Family for Christmas that my car club is participating in. My budget was $400. and only make it to $300. There must be something wrong for a girl not to be able to spend all the money It just doesn't seem normal. I'll convert the rest into grocery store gift cards and it will be delivered next week to the program center. Hopefully it will be a nice Christmas for them.
  18. Night's In White Satin- Moody Blues
  19. Ed Sullivan's Rock N Roll on PBS. It shows all the great bands in the 60s that he had on his show. Right now is the Doors, the only time they were on cuz Ed was mad they didn't change the words to a song. There were alot of them I didn't even know were on the show, but some of these I was just a wee kidling and wasn't aware of rock and roll yet.
  20. Sorry Evster to hear of your troubles. I will send good vibes to you and Charles for better times. Tomarrow I'm shopping with my daughter for donations to an adopt-a-family for Christmas, hoping it will snap me out of my pity party. I haven't told my daughter yet about her grandpa as loosing her job and the accident was too much to handle all at once. When I know more later I will tell her. 2010 WILL be a better year for all.
  21. Thanks guys.. we went to see her on Thanksgiving and she will be fine but it will be a long while for recovery. She had surgury to have several pins and rods and a couple of fusions right after the accident and will have another to fix her collar bone tomarrow. My daughter was laid off from her job and Wednesday was her last day. She had been managing a video store for 5 years and they closed down the store. She packed it up and went down with the ship, as she says. Its a dying business with the Red Box and Net Flix. Hopefully, Dzldoc, that is the 3rd thing on the list of what can go wrong in life and nothing else will happen.
  22. My daughters best friend from childhood , a neighbor and one of my girls scouts when I was a leader was in a motorcycle accident the day before Thanksgiving. She broke her back and collar bone. We were giving thanks that she is still alive and not paralysed yesterday. I hate posting in this thread.
  23. History Channel is showing a Beatles special tonight. Looks pretty good so far. Some things I haven't seen before.
  24. Thanks Charles. When he went he thought they would be telling him something like acid reflux and was blind sided when they told him cancer. I wish I lived closer to him because I could tell he was scared not knowing what may happen. I may be taking a trip up there soon when he knows more.
