  1. Thanks Dd, it did. Today I'm going to sail a small boat on the James. I haven't sailed in a couple years so it should be an adventure!

Nothing like being on the water to turn a ho-hum day into a spectacular day! Have fun!!

I'm driving an awful long way to get my battery fixed on my apple phone...a very ho-hum day for me! :(

I'm only a beginner with guitar but I try to do 2 to 4 hours a day.

A lot of it is going over and over the same things a lot to try to get them smoother. :)

By the way, Happy belated Birthday for your mum Ddladner. :)

Thank you, azad! With that dedication to practicing, I know your playing will be excellent! Maybe we'll get a sampling on the forum?!
  2. Going on a riverboat cruise on the nearby James River, if the weather holds up.

I'm envious!! Hope the weather held out for you!

Today I practiced guitar for 3 hours and then chopped down 3 trees in the backyard as they had to go due to lead contamination in the soil which also has to be removed.

    3 hours is impressive!

Happy belated birthday wishes for Ddladners' mum

    Thanks so much, SozoZoso! :)
  3. Remembering John Bonham with lots of love today. When I listen to LZ, I am usually air drumming and wishing I knew how to play the drums. One drum part that always makes me smile is in Dazed and Confused. We have just heard Jimmy tearing it up on the guitar and at 4:48 the drums sound very light hearted, I picture John skipping through a field :)...then, as if to say 'Bonzo doesn't skip', he goes absolutely wild on the drums. To me, it's a brilliant move, and I look for that part every time and just smile! Thank you, John Bonham, for giving us a lifetime of amazing drums!

  4. Yes, absolutely, and stunning pics from SozoZoso and Charles White too!

Agree! I love seeing everyone's pics, especially when it showcases the beautiful areas where they live. I've been very impressed!!

  5. Whilst on the subject of Lush products, has anyone tried their solid perfume? My favorite is Imogene Rose.

I have not tried any of the solid perfumes but will be sure to check them out on my next visit. Thanks for sharing your favorite! :)

  6. " Money does not represent such a value as men have placed upon it. All my money has been invested into experiments with which I have made new discoveries enabling mankind to have a little easier life."

    - Nikola Tesla

that guy was really something ( someone ) special.....

I agree...an amazing genius and very special, indeed. His experiments and discoveries certainly 'enabled mankind to have a little easier life'!!

  7. The whole shop smells wonderful :-)

Going into the store is a treat all by itself, I instantly feel better!

There is one in Richmond; I was there with kids this trip so not much time to stop and look but hopefully can look more next time!

I love that you can try out the products in the store, and they will also give you samples to take home. Beware, it's addictive! :)

Lush was an instant success when they opened here. By now there are at least eight shops in the Los Angeles area. That I know of, that is...there could be even more. Practically every woman I know drools at the sight of them...and my vegan/vegetarian friends, too. Nemea is right, the aroma in the shop alone is intoxicating enough to make you want to stay all day.

For the fashion savvy, I discovered this fascinating blog by Chiara Ferragni recently and had to share it here with Les Femmes Zeppelin:

Cool blog, Strider, thanks for sharing! The first Lush store I went to was in L.A.! At Universal Studios of all places. I was immediately hooked and thrilled to find that there was a store fairly close to me. I have ordered online before, but it's not nearly as fun as going into the store.

  8. I bought the Biore stuff over the weekend and I really like it too!! And I also found a Lush store, although I didn't remember about Coalface. I will look for it next trip!

I absolutely love the Lush store, the closest one to me is in New Orleans, and I stock up each time I visit! Their products are fantastic, very good quality. I'd love to hear if you find a favorite, mine are the bath bombs, Ocean Salt and Karma Kream. oh and one of their fresh face masks called Ayesha.

    :)

  9. Hi SW! Listened to the first hour and then had to take a break, hope to resume tonight. I knew it was awesome from the posts on this forum, and so far it has measured up to everything that I hoped for (and more!)! I got interested in this concert from the version of Ten Years Gone that I recently heard, absolutely love the guitar! I know that LZ live is the way to go, and I'm going to have to search YouTube for more! The improv and variations are brilliant! I have the official live releases which are fantastic, can't bring myself to buy bootlegs.

Just finished listening to the remaining concert, 6-21-77, and it was amazing! A few first impressions:

    - I have a new appreciation for WS/BMS! Was really enjoying what I heard, thinking that Jimmy is just so amazing and kicks a$$ all by himself, and as if Jimmy replied with 'If you like that, just imagine what happens when I bring along some of my friends', we slide into a powerful Kashmir!! Brilliant!!

    - As we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner today, how cool it was to hear Jimmy's shout out to the USA with SSB and Dixie...way to go, Jimmy, the USA loves you a lot!!

    - Beautiful version of Stairway to Heaven, presented as a gift to the audience, and what a gift it was!

    - I can only imagine what it was like to be at that show when Robert says goodnight...and then they come back with a really cool Rock and Roll! the concert was indeed long, but I have a feeling it was much too short for those lucky enough to be there.

    - Already mentioned my love for this version of TYG (although 4-28-77 is still in the lead for me)

  10. Glad to hear someone else is getting into Led Zep's live stuff the same way I did. 6/21/1977 was my first true Led Zeppelin concert too.

Since you mention it, one channel I can recommend is my friend Randy Butternubs: https://www.youtube.com/user/randybutternubs1209

He only uses lossless audio and saves everything in HD before uploading it so YouTube's uploader doesn't completely destroy the quality. Most of what he's put up is stuff I've shared with him, so if you find anything you like, lemme know and I'll PM you the original files when I can.

Thanks for the reference, Sue Dounim! Randy Butternubs posted the 4-28-77 Ten Years Gone that I cannot stop listening to! I will be sure to check out his channel.
