  1. I'm a newbie here. I recently took my 13 yr old to a "Get the Led Out" show and it was amazing. They honor Led Zeppelin with their excellent artistry and do not try to look like band but sound incredible. I closed my eyes and thought I was transported! In the show the lead singer says, "I know what your thinking, why is Slash on lead vocals and Plant playing guitar!?!" Great showmanship. They do a great honor to this timeless, intense music.

Where I am from, their shows sell out!

Check out their promo video that is on their main page! If you can see them? It's well worth it! http://www.gtlorocks.com

Saw GTLO last night at the Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, Mississippi and they were fantastic!! Very sincere and true to the music. They were all great, and I was especially drawn to the drummer...WOW!!

    Rock On GTLO!!

  2. Congrats on your anniversary, CP! Sounds like you made a great memory, and the train ride and sitting outside are lovely touches.

Today, a boat ride on the river with family, with a stop at a waterside restaurant for lunch. Tonight, going to see Get the Led Out at the Hard Rock.

  3. Hey all, first post here so you're welcome to shout at me for making dumb mistakes but I want to know what your favorite performance of How Many More Times is, it's my favorite Zep song(making it my all time favorite song) and it's always brilliant live.

My favorite version of it is probably from 3-17-69 in denmark but I'd be interested in what you think!

This is a great version, and even better to watch them playing live. I love those early days when they were blowing minds for the first time. The audiences are so interesting to watch...I'd love to know what they were thinking!! This is really good stuff!

  4. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_OBIT_CASEY_KASEM?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2014-06-15-11-18-06Rest in peace Casey Kasem. I wish this guy could've lived forever. His voice to me was always like an old friend. Whether it was from America's Top 40,or Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Casey, you don't have keep reaching for the stars anymore.

One of my favorite childhood memories is listening to America's Top 40 on that little white am/fm radio every Sunday night. Those were magical times, indeed, and Casey Kasem's voice is definitely like an old friend. RIP, dear Casey.

  5. The 5000 is a beast, but the truth is just have fun with it. You don't need the latest or the greatest, just use your imagination and take lots of pictures. There is a saying that if you do something 10,000 times you at some point get good at it.

    Good point!

  6. A Nikon, I have tried all sorts of brands but Nikon is the one I feel comfortable with.

Agree. I have a Nikon D5000 but haven't used it in a while and really need to learn how to take it off auto!

  7. ^^^ I agree that on the companion, I'm enjoying the songs that don't have vocals as much as anything. It's great to focus on the instruments, and I realize that even when I listen to the originals, I'm oftentimes focusing on the instruments anyhow. As I suspected, I am drawn to both versions of SIBLY. I love every note of this song, and in both versions, I feel like each member pours their heart and soul into it. Jennings Farm Blues and Key to the Highway / Trouble in Mind are new to me, and I can already tell they will be among my most played LZ songs.

  8. Same as Deborah J, I received two SDBS today...YAY!!! Ordered all three on March 13 from amazon US. Today's shipment was delivered by FedEx. III was shipped via US postal service (not sure why they were split) and I'm hoping it's sitting at the post office as it was supposed to arrive today and the amazon status shows that the delivery has been completed.
