  1. Happy birthday to you, ebk! Sounds like you are having a splendid day. Warm wishes for a great year ahead!! I will have a bubbly cocktail this evening in your honor. Cheers!!
  2. Many thanks, Kiwi! Appreciate the birthday wishes!
  3. Hi, Sath! Thank you for the birthday wishes!
  4. Thank you, Walter! Been in 'lurking' mode lately. Check in every now and then to see if a reunion is in the works. Hehe!
  5. You guys are the BEST! Thank you for the warm birthday wishes, it means a lot! Strider, I would love a piece of that gorgeous birthday cake!!
  6. Bravo! Bravo! You have outdone yourself, Strider! It was all worth the wait, and I hope you had as much fun reliving that glorious week as I had reading about it. Let us know when the book is available!
  7. When watching live versions of LZ, I love when the camera pans to the audience. That awestruck look on the faces of the audience members is priceless! It always makes me wonder who they are, what they must have been thinking, and where are they now? Thanks for bringing a voice to those lovely faces, Strider. Great job!
  8. Strider, I have so enjoyed reading this thread! Your keen memory, along with your ability to put into words all of the sights, sounds, and yes, even the smells, of that glorious week, is a gift to us all. We can all feel like we are right there with you! I wish I had been your concert buddy, giving you a high five on that special night, but alas, that day has passed, so I give you my high five now. Keep 'em coming, friend. It's good stuff. Really good stuff.
  9. ^^^ Thanks for the posts, zepscoda! The band was on fire that night! I can see why they are such a staple at Red Rocks, they give the audience everything they've got and more! Such a fun night!!
  10. Oh I am so envious!! ❤️❤️❤️ Big Head Todd and the Monsters / Collective Soul at Red Rocks was spectacular!! THANK YOU to zepscoda for the tip that they would be playing at Red Rocks, an unbelievably gorgeous outdoor venue. The best place to see the stars, indeed! Watching the strawberry moon creeping up from the horizon next to the stage during the concert, and then rising to shine down on Red Rocks to highlight the band was a sight to behold. One that I will not forget! And both bands ROCKED the house! I loved it so much, I will be back there tomorrow night to see Chicago / Doobie Brothers. And I will be wishing I were at the Bowl on Saturday.
  11. ^^^ I completely agree! Lady Gaga has great showmanship and is completely fearless...wow!!! The drones were a cool add.
  12. I'm just discovering this thread, and in celebration of the 5th anniversary of Strider's account, and the 40th anniversary of the tour, I have started from the beginning and will read it as intended. I've gotten through the purchase of the tickets and look forward to reading the rest of the story as we move along through the coming months. Very nicely written, Sean! Your attention to detail, and your ability to recall those details, is quite remarkable! By contrast, I can remember that I went to a concert 30+ years ago if I have the ticket stub to prove it, haha. It's fun to read your detailed account, especially of such special concerts that many of us never experienced. It's fun to remember how concerts (and life in general) were different back in 'the day', and it's fun to get to know you a little better along the way!
  13. Esther, it was a great pleasure to meet you in person and hang out with you for the day in the Crescent City! You are a lovely soul, and I hope we have the opportunity to meet again someday!
  14. Galatoire's is a lovely place to start, ebk! I love that while the dishes they serve are not extravagant, they are high quality and allow you to enjoy the fresh ingredients without camouflaging the taste with a ton of extra sauces and fanfare. And the lively atmosphere provides a true New Orleans experience. I have not been to Emeril's NOLA, but anything with his name attached is sure to be fantastic! Enjoy!
  15. Haha! Yes, eating in New Orleans is a must. Whether you are hungry or not. I have my favorites, but can't say I've ever had a bad meal in NOLA. Cooking is what they do best!! Many thanks, Kiwi! I'm super excited that ebk is visiting one of my favorite cities, and that I am close by to join her for a bit.
  16. Glad you arrived safely. See you soon!!
  17. Who can turn the world on with her smile? Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile? As Laura and Mary, you brought so much joy to generations who will always adore you and your seeet smile. Rest In Peace, Mary Tyler Moore.
  18. One of my son's friends had a LZ banner hanging over his bed in college. I thought it was cool to see the younger generation getting into LZ. It was a different design from yours.
  19. What a tragedy! I'm sorry for your loss.
  20. Envious! Red beans and rice, coming right up. ...tomorrow. Today, I'm cooking chicken and rice. It is a simple dish, and one of my family's favorites. Hmmm, rice two days in a row. So be it.
  21. Happy Army Anniversary, Strider! Love the cool pic! ?
  22. Proudly watching the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States of America. ??????
  23. Yes, it's a delightful movie! In my personal experience, one idea leads to ten more when you are building or renovating. Every time. Good luck to the Walters, remember to make it fun!
