No Japanese touch at all: according to Yuminori's tweet these seem to be the covers of the "Please Please Me"and "God Save the Queen" editions...

If these are the artwork designs for the boxes, I´ll save a lot of money and buy the standard edition. Chateau Marmont 69 and Bath 70- this is a confession of failure!!!

EV used to take care of authentic & related artwork over the last years, but this is ridiculous!

If anything each show should be released in its entirety.  This group of shows is far more special than Earls Court and should be treated as gold. Creating a composite wouldn't do justice to the music played each night. I also think each of the Earls Court shows should be released in their entirety too. No composites please.

    Exactly, thanks for your post.

Jimmy had his fun editing, cutting and splicing TSRTS, we have to live with that. But hands off the Japan 71 tapes. The material is incredibly fine, no need for a "Absolutely Live"-treatment (-The Doors 1970 live album- a fucked up fiasco with about 2000 edits-LOL)

  3. No doubt, 924 is a pearl too. What a pity that the sound of the known AUD sources varies from bad to mediocre. Even the Graf Zeppelin release is a hard piece of work, except the few stereo parts.

Well, we DO need SB´s of 923, 924 and 927- and the rest of 929. In the best case Jimmy takes the multitracks to Abbey Road studios and get them fixed.

Japan 1971- the peak, the fucking grail..........

Good question. I was pretty much stoned every day of the 70s and managed to see every LZ tour except 1977.

Wow, that is amazing. All of them at MSG? Which tour did you like the most? Any favourite memory?

As I was born in 1971, the nearest I got was the Page/Plant concert at the Wiener Stadthalle in 1998. No Quarter was a revelation, still gives me goosebumps.

^^ The post took out my response for some reason? Anyways, if it's Osaka 929 part 2, I'll give them a kidney for a copy...

Don´t be too generous with your organs, what if  928 turns up?

Just had this discussion on RO. While I wouldn't complain about a Philadelphia '75 board, please for the love of fuck could they just release ANYTHING from '72? Spare 1968, it's the only year that we haven't a single soundboard from. The 1972 US Tour was one of the band's very best peaks, any board from the era would be massively appreciated.

    Yes, Seattle would be gorgeous!

That would indeed be awesome, but I'm wondering from the descriptions if the audience sources they are referring to are the recently released Mr. Peach recording (which is pretty good and atmospheric despite the brickwalling) and the old "stage" source (which isn't an audience recording but has long been thought to be).

Yes, I fully share your doubts. Because of the high price I will wait for more information about these "uncirculated/huge upgrades".

Somehow I overlooked the mention in Fisheads last email. He's asking nearly half! $225.

No, you didn´t- this hasn´t been listed on the latest Fisheads update from 30th October. The Japan 72 box  is $225.

Anyway, Fisheads & others will sell the new box for a "moderate" price compared to Mr. $$$.

Serious/reliable info from Japan about the aud sources will pop up soon, I am in good spirits.

CD-4-6  2ND  Master 3CD High-quality audience that can be mistaken for a sound board.

Ah, this is modest bootleg lingo at its best, as always.

If these audience sources are new and nearly as good as promised, they should sound  like the 7th source of 923. Fingers crossed.......

And by the way, no one has to pay $ 449,-, this dealer is a well-known lunatic.

I was at one of the 7/73 shows at MSG & thought they played WIAWSNB when we got to our seats.

Then again, somebody thought it would be a good idea to eat quaaludes before the show😴

    73 MSG- Lucky you!

See, I have no problem with Paul Stanley mixing up details, but there is one thing I can hardly believe. Paul Stanley was 17 years old when he was simply blown away by LZ at this Central Park gig. So I guess the natural reaction of any music loving teenager would have been: I HAVE TO see this Band again whenever I can. Why didn´t he attend the New York concerts in 70, 71, 72 and 73, before things developed with KISS??? Was he too busy writing songs with Gene S. or playing to 25 people with Wicked Lester- screw that, that is just ridiculous.

In an article about a recent podcast, Paul Stanley talks about seeing Zep live in 1969:

"To this day, I've never seen anything that was that perfect. Not just in terms of the synchronicity and the fact that everybody was so much on the same playing field — it was the sexual energy that was coming off the stage, the flamboyance, the cocksure attitude. They backed it up. I think they knew how great they were. And I was just…

"First of all, the band was spectacular and played — I won't use any profanity — but they played tighter than a something… So, they were amazing. And Robert Plant was singing like something from another planet. He was hitting notes effortlessly, and there was such bravado in everything they were doing, it just blew me away."

Years ago Stanley talked about the specific date, it was 21.July 1969, NY, Central Park, Schaefer Music Festival.

His memory is mixed up a little bit, they didn´t play WIAWSNB.

@Robert, I'm afraid William is right,  that photo depicting Plant in blue open shirt and Bonzo shows them playing Friends, so 929 it is.

Haha, yes, of course William is right. I was much too focused on Jimmy´s clothes, couldn´t see the forest for the trees.

Many thanks to pluribus, William Austin and sam webmaster for their contribution to solve the mystery.

By the way, are we the only three punters here at the forum who acquired the Live 71-72 Japan book?

Sure, what do you expect? New book: 3 to 5 folks. New boot: 3 to 10 folks.........an endangered species, indeed.

DHL delivered the Live Tour in Japan 71-72 book today (ordered from amazon Jp, shipped on 30 sept.!!!!, economy air mail).

What to say?..the 'usual suspects' are included. The Teriyaki and sushi meal, the band visiting Hiroshima, ceremony at town hall, press conference and rehearsal plus in concert stuff...all filed chronologically . Strangely enough the pub jam session is not included (and no 929 shots either:-( Thankfully there's a lot more to enjoy, however most concert pics from 71 are severely under exposed, blurred and not always sharp. A pleasant surprise are the 1972 pictures. Superior to most 71 pictures...and IMHO more appealing. The text? Japanese only but that was to be expected. Disappointed?  no, but be sure to set your expectations not too high. Kinda visual warts and all documentary. Not an award winning coffee table photo book.

Hi Eric, got my copy last friday, thanks again for your guidance.

Agreed, more pro shots would have been nice, but on the whole I really like this book. I have noticed there is no 924 concert photo either. I always have tried to distinguish the different 71 photos/dates via Jimmy´s clothes.

No doubt about 923: Jimmy wears the dark T-shirt with the nice sun image (purchased in Montreux, I guess) and the brown suit jacket for the first songs.

924: The dark blue T-shirt with the red lines at neck & sleeve ends.

927: Small stage, white shirt with small knitted pullunder (indeed very small, could have been a present for his 15th birthday).

928: Revelation, thanks to this new book-   almost same clothes as in Hiroshima, but this time a white shirt with very thin blue lines. Teeny pullunder in action once again!

929, still a mistery to me: I think most of the bootleg releases (including the recent 929 SB) got it wrong, presenting photos of the actual 924 Budokan gig, with Jimy wearing the blue T-shirt with red lines. Some boots have photos with Jimmy wearing a red shirt, but I think they are from Hampton or the Berkeley gigs. In my opinion he wore the brown suit trousers and a bright shirt with much thinner fabric than the shirts he wore 927 & 928. Also, I think Robert wears a sun image T-shirt, same as Jimmy on 923.

    What do you think?

Was this a recent post?  A new master SBD of Bonzo's Bday?? Surely not from the second night at the Forum??

Unfortunately not Bonzo´s Birthday nor the second night June 3, I misread that too- it is 1975, the new master SBD of LA Forum 1975 = The Night Stalker

This flyer is enclosed to the Pareidolia Paradigm Box.
