  1. Happy birthday, lovely Jimmy! It's my birthday, too... very proud to share it with you!
  2. Keith and Jimmy P. are pulling such funny faces!
  3. I hate when they do that. I bought a magazine a few months ago for an interview with Pamela Des Barres and an item on groupies and there was another article with a picture of Edie Sedgwick and they'd shopped out the cig in that one, as well. The youngest people reading the bastard thing are going to be about 16, so what's the point? Anyway, rant over.
  4. So cute! But I feel like playing a prank on him, like dropping something into his mouth...
  5. Most favourite > Least favourite (sorry, read it wrong) Nobody's Fault Dazed and Confused Bring It On HOme Black Dog Whole Lotta Love Kashmir Rock and Roll Stairway Moby Dick
  6. Are we still going? Looks like fun anyway. 1. How long have you been listening to Led Zeppelin? Since mid-December 2006. 2. What would you say is your favourite album of theirs? LZIII 3. Your favourite song(s) Bron-Yr-Aur, Nobody's Fault, Hats off to (Roy) Harper, In My Time of Dying, Dazed and Confused, Four Sticks, etc. etc. etc. 4. In terms of design, what would you say is their most powerful album sleeve? Physical Graffiti 5. What colours or colour schemes would you generally associate with the band? Black, red and purple. 6. During which period of their career would you say they were at their creative peak? All of it.....okay, maybe '68-71 and then up again in '76 7. In general, what do you think would be the most effective means of introducing the band’s music to the younger generations? Play them one of the compilations, I suppose. 8. Who or what made you start listening to them? I was a Jimmy fan already because of the Yardbirds. 9. Apart from the obvious iconic image of the zeppelin, what do you think is the strongest form of imagery associated with the band? ZoSo. And that picture of Jimmy in the white dragon suit where it looks like he has really long legs. 10. Finally, in no more than five words, what do you love about Led Zeppelin? James Patrick Page....renovated blues.
  7. Basically the same story for me, not too long ago. Zep and Dylan. Zep inspired me to find out more about the actual technicalities of music (I should never have given up piano, but the teacher was a cow...), changed my taste in men and they jumped through a muddy puddle in my goody-two-shoes, tore them up and then had the nerve to donate them to charity. And today Jimmy made me late for school because ALL the music magazines had interviews, rumours and lots and lots of photos and I couldn't afford them all, so I just stood around the newsagent's reading them.
  8. I ALWAYS listen to Bron-Yr-Aur before turning off the light. I would fall asleep with the CD on repeat but I don't want to use that much power. Besides, now that I don't have an iPod anymore, if I rolled over the headphones would come out and my brother would come in and tell me to turn it off because he can't hear his Ozzy....
  9. Awesome that you're studying linguistics, that's what I want to do next year. We've just been doing the exact same thing in my Year 12 English Language class. Funfun! I live in Australia, by the way. busy as a bee flat as a pancake hard as rock sly as (no idea) quick as a flash fits as (?) happy as a pig in shit (or muck, if I'm not allowed to swear) poor as (?) hungry as (?) slow as a snail old as time dull as dishwater drink like a fish work like a dog live like the wind sing like a bird fight like (?) swim like a fish cool as a cucumber pleased as Punch quite as neat as (?) sharp as a tack strong as a bull sober as (?) clean as a whistle stubborn as a bull good as gold blind as a bat fat as fuck (LOL, sorry) sleep like a log eat like a pig laugh like a hyena run like the wind shake like a willow tree (I'm serious, sorry) watch (someone) like a hawk Crrrrrrrrrrrrrap. I didn't read any of the other posts either. Trust me to do that. Sounds like it went well, anyway. "Old as Keith Richards". I'm gonna use that.
  10. I pick Jimmy, and for once I don't just mean "friends with benefits". I think we would have some similar interests and, trying desperately not to sound pretentious, even without having met him, I think we have a few personality traits in common....maybe because we have the same birthday (as I never tire of pointing out). There would be so much cool music and history to talk about and he's such a sweetie.
  11. Well, I was going to say I hated anyone who answered "1968", but no-one has yet. Anyway, I still hate everyone that didn't answer "never"!
  12. It does seem a kind of cliche, obvious choice, etc. A family friend of ours died of leukaemia almost ten years ago, aged 18, and they played STH, Wish You Were Here, Oh Very Young and.....the Star Wars theme at the service. Nothing like the Seventies for funeral music.
