End of the work week for me! Off to New York tomorrow for the long weekend.

Saw Mose Allison at Blues Alley on Saturday. Didn't know him, and never been to Blues Alley before. Would definitely like to go back there - really cool venue. Mose is smart and funny. Although I've never been a huge jazz fan, I enjoyed him a great deal.

What do you bake? I'm still working on mine; I had to toss a rum cake the other night for the very first time; it broke in 3 coming out of the pan
Still have more rum cakes, and this year I"m going to try doing peppermint bark too.Cookies! Chocolate chocolate chip, peanut butter M&M, oatmeal raisinette, chocolate chip with hazelnut and coffee liqueurs in the dough, and peanut butter/chocolate "candy". I give those as gifts, and also ship them off to several of my "imaginary" friends (peeps I've met on message boards!). It's fun, and gets me 3 days off of work every December...
I've never tried making rum cake. I like easy, but tasty, stuff. Lazy is my middle name
My husband loves peppermint bark. I've tried it in the past, but it's been quite a while. Good luck!!

ebk was this photo taken at the battery or fort Moultrie? I spent many of my childhood years in and around Charleston.
Mostly on James Island and N. Charleston and a little time on Johns Island and Mount Pleasant.
At the battery. We were on our self-guided walking tour of the architecture/history of Charleston.
I looooove Charleston. I've been several time before, but mostly for Spoleto. So I spent most of that time in the theatres. The last 2 times, I've been able to do more sightseeing. Can't wait to go back again (maybe in April) and see more houses. And eat more. The food is divine!!!

I'm not usually a fan of weddings, but my best friend's niece was married today and it was a lovely event. Best of all was being with such a wonderful family. A great day!!

O's win the last game of the season on a day with perfect weather! And a fabulous dinner at Corks in Federal Hill. If you're in the 'hood, I highly recommend it!!
