  1. Glad you all have enjoyed the pictures. I'm not sure which fenced in area you're talking about Buck"Eye" Doc, but if it's the second one posted here, that's a screened in porch off the living room. The Pope-Leighey house is quite tiny, but every inch of it is functional...in that FLW way!

What is making me happy right now - Ledo's pizza!! Yummmmmmm

  2. I love FLW!!! I've been to Taliesin West and can't believe I haven't been to Fallingwater since I live relatively close. I here they are doing sleepovers (!) there now for the low, low price of #1,200... :D

Here's a link to the pictures I took at Florida Southern College this past July. Wright designed a bunch of buildings for them

Here are a couple of pictures from the Pope-Leighey House in Alexandria VA. I'd love to live there...even though it is in Virginia...

  3. Got to watch PTI in studio a couple of weeks ago. If anyone was watching the day the did the in-show break where Wilbon asked where everyone was from, there was Tucson, Dexter MO and... Silver Spring. That was me!

I'm behind Mr. Tony... it was a fun time.

  4. I go back and forth between Pantene, Head & Shoulders and Herbal Essenses. I don't color my hair, but I'm trying to decide if I want to leave it long (it's waist length) when it gets really gray, or just cut it all off. I really don't want to start coloring it. But we'll see...

As far as facial products go, I've used Noxema since i was in high school...and my 35th reunion is next year. I only wear makeup when I dress up, and use Victoria's Secret body lotion to moisturise. Seems to be working...

  5. Two sets from the New Riders of the Purple Sage at the Pour House in Raleigh last night. The only two original members left are guitarist/vocalist David Nelson and pedal steel whiz Buddy Cage, everyone else has passed away. Including founding member John "Marmaduke" Dawson who just died a week or so ago. Still, they pulled it off and it was a great show, if not a bit more "jammy" than the N.R.P.S. concerts of yore. Mixed in with the old stuff was a healthy dose of new material from their latest record that fit in well. All the favorites were there: Panama Red, You Angel You, Henry, Lonesome L.A. Cowboy, etc. I'll certainly check them out again the next time they "breeze through town".

They're playing at the Birchmere this coming Wednesday with Commander Cody. We're going to try to make it...

  6. It occurs to me that I gave the impression that that is my actual, real-life bedroom view. Unfortunately, it's not. I'm in Lauderdale By The Sea for the weekend in my favorite beach hotel... which makes me very happy!!

Also, I discovered there's a Kilwin's Chocolate Shop right down the street!! Imagine my surprise when I left carrying a bag!!! ;)

  7. Woohoo - vacation! Have a great time :D

Thanks ninelives!! I'm really looking forward to just relaxing for a few days.

And may I say... I do appreciate everyone here. I can just come around and (mostly) read...and post sometimes... and people are so nice. :)

  8. Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen this past Friday. Willie had to cut his set a bit short due to thunder and rain, but was wonderful, as always. Mellencamp was...Mellencamp. Fun...

Dylan was great. Actually engaged, seemed to be enjoying himself. Did a few songs from way back (which surprised me for some reason), although there were totally new arrangements so sometimes I didn't recongnize them until a few lines in...

Had a great time!! And, at some point, I'll go see a ballgame at the stadium. It's quite lovely!!

  9. Well it wasn't exactly today but yesterday my catscan came back normal and I get a two week break in my treatments because my blood platelets were low.

God it feels good to feel good! :)

That is wonderful news Charlie!!! So glad you're feeling well :)

  10. It will be quite exiting for us all, and a wonderful achievement for you to hit 1000 posts.

Because he will leave at that point?

That would make all of us happy!!! And finally make a positive contribution to this thread...

    We can only hope.

  11. Friends ... friends always make me happy! Had breakfast with a friend this morning, then chatted with 2 close friends who just met each other today.

And Charlie, glad you're home and hope things go smoothly from here on!!
