  1. The boat is a 21.5 foot Bay Hawk- a center console fishing boat. No Cabin Cruiser for first boat here (LOL). Later maybe- after this one gets some dings from the captain learning to moor it. ;)

The car is a Honda Accord.

I had planned for the boat to be a total surprise- complete with a "treasure map" and the key for him to find it on Christmas day. My son was so excited that his dad was getting a boat that he let the secret out.

I didn't let either of them know about the car, since one of my secrets was out already.

    I thrilled them both.

    B)

:o I need to find me a Ms Santa

  2. Lucky You!

I wonder why VH1 Classic will not show the Zep appearance?

Maybe the band (Jimmy) doesn't want the sub-par performance shown and will not grant permission.

Could be or just the current vh1 management saw fit to cut that segment due to time constraints.

I bought the DVD of the Freddy Mercury Tribute and the only footage included of the other bands were when they actually played with Queen.

Same with the 9/11 concert, segments were cut for the DVD. Like when the fireman told

Bin Laden to kiss his ass LOL.

  3. Watching VH1 Classic: Soundstage with Fleetwood Mac.

I didn't know that Lindsey Buckingham was a guitar picker, not a strummer. He doesn't use a guitar pick on most of his songs but plucks the strings!

    I love the song "Landslide".

"Time makes you bolder, children get older, I'm getting older, too."

:o Aww! now ya got me missing my cable.

  4. "Christmas Bird"

I got a nephew that I think a lot of and he works for the Shell Oil company.

An' about four years ago they moved him down to South America an' I ain't seen him

    since.

But he still thinks about me an' Ma Crabapple. Every Christmas he sends us a nice present. This past Christmas he sent us a "Live" bird.

Green bird, 'bout this tall, had a little yellow top notch on his head with some red on it

an' a hooked beak-sent it to us live from South America.

I tell ya sumpthin' that bird was delicious! yes sir!

We had him for Christmas dinner. We fixed him with some dressin' an' cranberry sauce,

    sweet pertater scuffle.

Well after Christmas my nephew called wanna t' know if we got the bird!

I said "We got him" Wanna t' know how we liked him.

I said "He was delicious!" He said "You don't mean you eat that bird!"

I said "Well a course we did" My nephew got all upset an' pitched a fit.

He said "I paid a fortune for that bird!" He said "That things worth a fortune!"

He said "That bird could speak two different languages!"

I said "Well... he shoulda' said sumpthin'"

  5. It seems that it was too cloudy this morning at Newgrange and it prevented the sun from lighting the inner passageway and tomb. How disappointing for the people who won the lottery to attend the solstice viewing. I am glad that I didn't stay up to view the live video.

I am tired already of this cold weather. We are having heavy winds and temps in the teens today so the wind chill is below zero. Brrrrrr. :freezing:

Can't go to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl because it is on January 5th, not New Year's Day. The boys start classes for winter quarter on the 5th. What happened to having the bowl games on New Year's Day? How do they expect the students to attend when they hold the game during classes? :soapbox:

  6. I have already had enough of winter weather. I don't enjoy the cold. When i get my tax return money, i am going to plan a vacation to Florida (hopefully in March) so i can get a bit of springtime early.

Maybe you should look towards the land of cotton :whistling: Oh I wish I were in Dixie! :D

  7. Well I will agree about the eyes being a window to ones soul or more how their life has been.

Take someone that is young and has had a virtually stress free life, you can see a twinkle in their eyes. Now look at someone the same age that has lived a rough life

you just don't see that twinkle if you will.

I've been on the earth for almost half a century and have looked into many souls if you will and I've seen people that looked as though they were lifeless just by looking into their eyes. JMHO
