Jets got screwed by Zach Wilson's horrible interceptions. They had plenty of opportunities to win that game and blew it.

Man, you know the Bills are doing really well, when Rick is upset that the Jets lost!

Had lots of 'em here in town. They also make the business rounds.

Seems it's more popular for parents to take their kids to public places for monitored fun, than the crazy stuff we used to do as kids. The state park nearby has been dong a thing with rides, picture booths, magic shows... then once it's dark they have kayaks decorated with lit pumpkins go around the lake. All free, very big turnouts for that.

I was just wondering, do kids even waste time trick or treating anymore?

I like seeing them come around, it's one of the few ways to get to know them and their parents, new people in the neighborhood. But we have a fenced in yard and big gate with a sign warning dog in yard - so they usually pass on by. So I sit out front with the dog, and invite them over. This year was a very big turnout, one group was over 20 kids. Nice to see, and then later we light our carved pumpkins and watch horror movies. I still enjoy it all.

You live in the Jets and Giants market.  I know how that works.  All the way to Syracuse though given how good the Bills are now, Syracuse may have bailed on the Jets?  Not sure.Rochester and Buffalo of course, the Bills will be on. You should get the Bills vs Jets?  I would think

I've been watching the Jets less and less, it's too brutal on top of how the Giants have been for quite some time. I know both teams currently have winning records, but there's a ways to go to prove that's real. But my Giants forum has been buzzing about the Bills,  Allen, and the hope of what the Bills have been doing will come our way. I will certainly try to put aside the time to see what the Bills do these coming playoffs.

  5. ^^^ Well, you guys seem to agree, even though we each follow different teams. It's weird that I don't get to see many Bill's games, even living in NY (but on Long Island). But good for you Cornelius (I know it''s " Rick", but I really liked your old handle), you hung in there.

The NFL is already having an issue with retaining quality QBs, regardless of gaudy seeming stats. We're seeing less pure pocket passers being developed, and things like salary cap and FA are forcing a shorter window of time to stay with their development. Most of these mobile ones, especially the run first, will likely have short careers - whether it's them exposing themselves to injury, or legs not lasting like arms and brains do. Maybe Allen will not fall to this, he has so many skills and is built like Lil' Abner...

Its been going on for years now so it must be working  The stands are full in London which leads me to believe someday they may have a team in England.  Its possible because you only play once a week in the NFL.  So a team could fly over early in the week.  Or the team from London could fly here.  It would be interesting.  The only team they ever considered in Canada was moving my Bills to Toronto.  Not happening. And they did not draw as expected when the Bills did play up there.

Wouldn't the league need to have at least a few teams in Europe, Mexico, where ever else... to make this feasible? The league is already weak in QB talent coming up, and even assembling a competent O-line seems to be a chore for many teams. We really don't see many foreign players achieving in the NFL, other than pass rushers with impossible names - and they certainly are not coming from Europe.

This is from two months ago and he doesn't appear to look that old. He's got gigs coming up too!

My older sister left me all her Monkees albums when she moved out, they were my first "Rock" if you can call it that.

Took my nephew to this double-feature at the Cinematheque yesterday. Both on 35mm film. The print of "Frankenstein" had the scene restored where Frankenstein tosses the girl in the lake.

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein is so well done, in every way it could have been.

Im happy for Brian. Lets not forget that they are winning by the skin of their teeth but I would surely take it if I were a Giants fan.  I do not think they escape this surprising Seasttle team on the road this week.  But I have said that before, like the London game vs Green Bay, who my Bills play tonight.

Kickoff in London only 1.5 hours away!!!!  EST.   What is Russell going to cook today?

I just found out I cant get this game?  I have ESPN and ESPN2 but I guess you have to pay to see it.  No thanks.  I already have Prime to see the Bills on Dec 1

Unbelievable that Seattle is doing this with Geno Smith - did any one think he could be a winning starter? Still not sure they or any other team would commit to him long term.

I don't care for this whole European market program, for many reasons. Starting times, viewing availability, jet lag for players, loss of home games... and if it does take off, won't the league in general be watered down?

Yeah, if I'm a Giants fan I am saying "Good riddance, bum!"

What's the over/under on games before Toney hurts himself again? 2? 3?

There's been speculation he doesn't want to learn the playbook, or being coached to not hurt himself. Those shifty moves are of no value, when it's your own ankles that you're breaking. It sucks rooting for a guy to return and help out, only to find he wasn't interested.

Crazy day in the NFL. Cadaver Toney gets traded to KC. Chase is going down for 4-6 weeks with a hip injury and I’m hearing Hunt is being sent to the Rams in the very near future. Zeke is out for Dallas this week. And the wheel rolls on…

"Cadaver", LOL - that one got around quick. Played like 2 snaps this season, and mostly MIA as a rookie. But now he's supposedly ready to go for KC. It's been desperation for receivers on the Giants, with other players giving their all under this terrific new HC. Screw him.

Pretty much agree totally Sean.  The Rams need to come back healthy and they can beat this banged up 49ers team.  SF was a real disappointment yesterday.  But I guess they have major injuries.  It shows just how good the Bills are beating KC on the road. SF got taken out to the woodshed at home.  Tonight another stinker.  NE vs Shitcago. Bears are the worst team in football.  Washington beat GB.  And the shocker Carolina pulled yesterday was something nobody saw coming. Tom Brady cannot have this season end fast enough and merciful enough.  I think the Divorce is now his number one priority.  Making sure she doesn't take him for every cent.  And I hear she is the one that started it?  Put a fork in Tampa.  And now the rest of the AFC East is winning.  And the damn Giants!!!  They sucked out again.  And I mean sucked out. They might be the worst 6-1 team in NFL history.  These last place schedules give you a real break.  But nobody saw the collapse of Green Bay to this level.  Minnesota are in the drivers seat in that division.  Big time.  So Brady vs Lamar on Thurs.  Big deal.  Ill take Lamar I guess?  But in this unpredictable season anything can happen.  NE -9 vs the Bears.   I wonder if they can make a game of this? I doubt it. Belecheck has the Jets on deck though.  But he is the type of coach that will not let them look ahead.  And they have issues at QB .

Hey Cornelius, was thinking of you when my Giants plucked some personnel from your Bills. Yes, our roster is rather unimpressive - but Sheon has started out with a nice draft, and Daboll has what we have performing to the top of their abilities. I think you'll see a real team in contention, maybe as soon as next season.

Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady, who continue to tour together as Hot Tuna, are in excellent health and spirits.

  14. ^ I don't keep notes or memorabelia on shows - but 85 was probable. Like I said, we had no idea what these guys were going to play, but were naïve enough to think there was going to be Zep songs mixed in. The closest we got was the bow solo, which actually felt out of place considering what they were doing. We had seen Chris Slade with David Gilmore around that same time, and were big into Bad Co. - so the overall personnel was a thrill to see. I hadn't heard about Tony Franklin before - but personally, I was digging on his style. Page played fine, but seemed more a piece of the overall sound than the centerpiece. This was the only time I had seen him play. I don't remember how we got such close seats, but the sound did not seem blaring or muddled. Us hooligans had a good time, considering...

  15. ^ Haha, I just noticed you are from Smithtown. We had close seats, too - and might have been on the same train, even! My friend and future bro-in-law, told the other guys on the train "we would spit in their faces on the way back", if the Firm didn't do all the Zep tunes they said they heard they would. I was mortified. If that was you, my apologies!

  16. Gotcha. It seemed to work live, though. We went to that show hearing all sorts of rumors (no internet, back then) that Page was going to take over and play mostly Zep tunes. Obviously, that didn't happen. But because of Franklin's funk and improvision, along with the others' talent, and Page did fine - it was overall better than expected.

When I heard there was tapings of Page's collaboration with Chris Squire, I looked into it hoping for some of the same - but I didn't feel there was much of anything to enjoy, there.

  17. ^ Yeah, I saw this "Game of Thrones" stout at the supermarket, and passed. Even if I was a fan of the show, it seems gimmicky - not sure if that is an established brewery? I did try a local stout on tap - Blue Point Sour Cherry Stout, that was simply out of this world. I've never cared for fruity flavors in beers, but this was definitely an exception. I see the beer place carries it - but at 9 bucks for a (20 ounce?) bottle, that's not something I'll be buying very often.
