Michael Nesmith died today, leaving Mickey Dolenz as the last surviving member of The Monkees. I thought they were pretty good for what started out as a manufactured band. I still think it hilarious that Jimi Hendrix was their opening act once. Those teenyboppers got quite the musical education that night.

Rest In Peace John Miles, aged 72. after a brief illness.

John appeared on Jimmy Page's Outrider album and Tour in 1988.

He handled Robert Plant, Chris Farlowe, and Paul Rodgers vocal ranges pretty flawlessly.

John also worked with Tina Turner, Allan Parsons, Grace Jones as well as a respectable solo career..

Yes, indeed. R.I.P. John Miles (72).

Richard Cole, a Zep legend gone.

Whatever your opinion of him was after the band ended, he was undoubtedly an integral part of the success of the group and worked endlessly to push this band to the top.

  5. Thanks for sharing. Great behind the scenes studio stuff. It’d be cool to see a track by track review in the studio once all three (7.1-7.3) EP’s are released.

Comment: They could have tried a reverse gate while isolating frequencies through an aux bus to get rid of the chuck (shoes squeak from hi hat, as mentioned)...

  6. The challenge is: there are people on the forum who can’t separate the actual art / music from the people (personalities); objectively versus subjectivity... Some tend to lump whether they like the person  themselves (if not); they tend to dismiss an artist / band.  I wonder if they do this with everything else.  I personally can separate the music / art from the person / people. I like the Eagles (Music), but know there are things about individuals (personalities / actions) in the band, which are appalling / ridiculous.  All art / music (appreciation) is subjective (listeners taste / choice), but to immediately discount a band’s music / talent due to what they perceive / know about the individual is shortsighted.  There must be other factors / previous bad experiences / memories related to the listeners lives (perhaps painful; breakup while attending an Eagles concert or the person they dated loved the Eagles; who knows??? ... No charge for the analysis 😆

  7. Yep. Was afraid of that. Hope they just do what Ringo is doing... release 5 song eps every 6 or so months over the year and a half and 3 tour cycles... I like my cd 💿 collection too much to buy singles . I hope they do a limited edition cd or limited 3 CD Edition .
