  1. I have to ask...given the position of the lettering, is "Die Schallmauer" anything like "der schwanz"? Lol, now here's a classic for you...
  2. Oh, awesome! Wow, thanks, you guys! 'Tis like the moonlight on a rippling pond at night... :sigh:
  3. Tee-hee, I just love his "Paddington Bear" outfit. Too cute! Does anyone have a color picture, say from RAH in 1970, where his hair is all long and wavy? I just love the way it looks in the DVD, with the blue lights shining on it during White Summer...He and Robert should have been Vidal Sassoon models or something, lol! edit: Uh, never mind! I just realized that there were 9 pages here and not 3, so I'm sure I'll find something that fits my needs. D'oh!
  4. Yeah, it's at least worth giving it a chance. I thought it was pretty faithful to the books.
  5. I saw The Golden Compass. Wasn't as shite as I thought it would be, what with all the bad reviews. They left all the religious parts in, which made me happy. I was afraid they'd dumbed it down for "general audiences," but they didn't. Still makes a more lasting impression in book form, but that's not surprising. All the actors were good - that kid with the funny name who played the main character really surprised me - she seemed really natural. Loved Daniel Craig as Lord Asriel, and Nicole Kidman was a pretty good Mrs. Coulter. I wish Daniel Craig could have been in the movie more, but unfortunately that's just how the story is. Sam Elliott was awesome; couldn't have found a more perfect fit. In a nutshell, I thought it made a nice little visual companion to the books, but it didn't eclipse them or anything.
  6. That's HAWT. Hee hee, I love his purple shirt collection.
  7. Hey AllisonAdler, what were you reading again about King Arthur and...Celtic legend, I think it was? I really wanted to read that, but with this darn site change and everything, I can't go and see what it was exactly. Thanks! I am now finally at last reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and I am soooo loving it so far! Right up my alley - Norse myth, snarky humor, social commentary...rock on!
