The planes were quite often just on their last legsMichael McDonald once told us about the Doobieliner: “It was a quirky plane with a lot of weird jerry-rigged parts … it really was a death trap.” before they ended up in the boneyard down in Arizona.
So I'm here in Phoenix and there is a airplane boneyard in Tucson. Anyone know the Starships VIN number or other identifier? Tucson's not far and the place is open to the public. I'd seriously check this out if I get enough info. Anybody in AZ want to tag along?
EDIT: Wiki says it was dismantled for parts in July 1982. : (

Wow - pretty good sound for the mic being on the floor and pretty ballsy to hand over the mic and then break out the Super 8MM! I guess PG only said you're not allowed to tape the concert, he never said anything about filming it! THANKS MAN!

Really enjoying this new tape!

Based on the description I was thinking Jennings Farm Blues...

1979 - Copenhagen
These Copenhagen shows get a lot of love, but I've tried and tried over the years to get into them. But I just can't, the recordings sound so thin compared to stuff like Blueberry Hill or Going To California or the 19 Sept 1970 shows in New York. Until there's a better tape the majority of stuff I listen to is between 1969 and 1973.

That did sound really good! Love 1970 Zep!

Your grandfather flew the Enola Gay?
Yes, but not in the way you think. He was navigator and flew a mission after the bomb drop.

The Enola Gay, a B29 Superfortress and one of the most iconic aircraft in America's history.
Thanks Steve! I was really close with my Grandfather and this photo showed up many years after his death. I doubt he ever saw it, but he did talk about this experience from time to time. It came to the family in the most random of ways... Some long lost cousin found my father on Facebook and posted this photo.

Love Pledge Pin and am really keen on Plant's first two solo records over all the others (apart from those with Alison).

Too all the Veterans in this forum, Thank you for your service. These are photos of my Grandfather somewhere in the South Pacific in 1945 and my Father somewhere in Turkey in 1967. I never wore the uniform but did work at military bases throughout Iraq and Afghanistan for more than 10 years. Thanks to all who've worn the uniform.

(tho I did see Zep 3x in '69 at the Kinetic Playground in Chicago).
Have you seen the photos from that show? LOTS of great audience shots. Maybe you're in one of them.

Resurrecting this topic, any possibility of existing New York 1970 in multitracks or at least a soundboard?
Its my favorite concert. My buddy at work was at this show. He was 14, first concert and totally wasted. He remembers very little, sadly.

Beautiful. Minor nit but the hell with the time focused on the shoes?
Same! Was thinking the guy with the camera was going for the same shot like Janis at Monterey Pop just a couple years prior.

Aw man - I wish there was more of the acoustic set. Regardless its BEAUTIFUL footage.

The whole idea of Plant, especially., being willing to try out another drummer in the weeks after Bonzo's death just doesn't sound remotely likely to me.
Add the lense through which his baby boy died just a few years before this too.

I saw Plant as an individual show (after zep (and the release of Now and Zen) and he played the acoustic and electric guitar and was quite proficient).
I can see Page now showing Plant how to do this and that. Imagine the two of these guys just strumming acoustic guitars together in 1970 as they work on tracks for the third album.

The guy captured history right there. Some of my favorite moments from that gig are captured here. Absolutely wonderful. TY SO MUCH!
