The planes were quite often just on their last legsMichael McDonald once told us about the Doobieliner: “It was a quirky plane with a lot of weird jerry-rigged parts … it really was a death trap.” before they ended up in the boneyard down in Arizona.

So I'm here in Phoenix and there is a airplane boneyard in Tucson. Anyone know the Starships VIN number or other identifier? Tucson's not far and the place is open to the public. I'd seriously check this out if I get enough info. Anybody in AZ want to tag along?

EDIT: Wiki says it was dismantled for parts in July 1982. : (

    1979 - Copenhagen

These Copenhagen shows get a lot of love, but I've tried and tried over the years to get into them. But I just can't, the recordings sound so thin compared to stuff like Blueberry Hill or Going To California or the 19 Sept 1970 shows in New York. Until there's a better tape the majority of stuff I listen to is between 1969 and 1973.

The original photograph was very difficult for me to restore. A professional with better software can probably improve upon these.

The Enola Gay, a B29 Superfortress and one of the most iconic aircraft in America's history.

Thanks Steve! I was really close with my Grandfather and this photo showed up many years after his death. I doubt he ever saw it, but he did talk about this experience from time to time. It came to the family in the most random of ways... Some long lost cousin found my father on Facebook and posted this photo.

  5. Too all the Veterans in this forum, Thank you for your service. These are photos of my Grandfather somewhere in the South Pacific in 1945 and my Father somewhere in Turkey in 1967. I never wore the uniform but did work at military bases throughout Iraq and Afghanistan for more than 10 years. Thanks to all who've worn the uniform.
