A 90 minute black and white videotape of the rock band

Led Zeppelin performing in Montreaux, Switzerland, has

fetched a record sum at auction in New York. The rare,

previously unseen footage was donated by an annonymous

Swiss collector, then sold to a Japanese buyer who paid

$450,000 for it. Though the buyers name wasn't disclosed,

it was widely believed to be a well-nown bootleg outfit.

According to the few allowed to see it, the footage comes

from a single camera, and is very clear and stable, with

'excellent' audio. Zeppelin collectors are understandably

excited about the pending release of this film to the bootleg

community, as it shows the band at the peak of their

powers in an under-documented phase of their career
