The Rover
In the June 2011 issue of Guitar Player Magazine, they list (Yes, another List !!): The 40 Most Influential Rock Solos Ever Page makes the cut. They feature a two page b&w photo of Zeppelin in concert around 1970, as the backdrop for the Contents Guide for that issue. You might have naturally thought that they would pick the solo from STH, as being one of the 40 Most Influential Rock Solos Ever, but, it did not make the cut. Instead, they have chosen the Jimmy Page solo from "Heartbreaker" as being one of the 40 Most Influential Rock Solos Ever. I can't say I disagree. It was HB that blew my mind. STH was fun... but HB was Mind-Blowing, especially with the Koss headphones on, and a first edition LZ II LP spinning on the turntable, back in October of 1969. JimmyGun
The pick of "Heartbreaker" is most understadable. its my fav song, its got a killer solo and a killer riff's, PERFECT. but, STH should'v made it too...
TheStairwayRemainsTheSame
Heartbreaker has a better solo then Stairway imo. Yet I agree on Stairway needing a spot.
