DavidZoso Posted June 23, 2011 Share Posted June 23, 2011 MOUNTAIN’S LESLIE WEST HAS LEG AMPUTATED Brought To You By VH1’s Dave Basner Mountain guitarist Leslie West has had his leg amputated in emergency surgery. The legendary rocker was set to perform in Biloxi, Mississippi but his leg began to swell and, since he is a diabetic, he was rushed to the hospital. There, the decision was made to remove the leg in order to save his life. The operation was a success and while Leslie’s leg was removed up to the knee, he is expected to fully recover I am glad he will make a full recovery but am sad he lost his leg. Strider Posted June 23, 2011 Share Posted June 23, 2011 So sad about Leslie...and you're right David; he's very underrated and practically overlooked as a guitarist. Hope he's able to recover and get back to playing. Always sucks to lose a limb, but in this case better a leg than an arm. I just recently went through a similar scare.
