I enjoy both of these for slightly different reasons. I love Jones and Bonham's underlying groove on TSRTS soundtrack but think that Jimmy and Robert's theramin interplay is a little more "exotic" on the How The West Was Won version. So, in other words, I'm a bit torn.

The Song Remains The Same has my favorite rendition of Boogie Chillun' so I have to go with that one as my favorite, although it has been awhile since I listened to HTWWW, so maybe I'll revisit that one in the near future.

Yeah, I especially love the way they break into Ricky Nelson's Hello Mary Lou and then into the ending blues number, Goin' Down Slow. I side with that version just because of those two additions. But I still love the theramin groove on TSRTS as well.

Gotta love the WLL medley pre USA '73, with the entire medley intact which constantly changed. From Elvis, Buddy Holly, Ricky Nelson , The Beatles and so on, this was always a gem of any LZ show. Just wish they never decided to eliminate the medley. You never knew what you'd get in the medley from one show to the next. Real surprises in Japan in 1971!

HTWWW is better in my view. But TSRTS version is my sentimental favorite because I've lived with it for so much longer.

Of course, if we're talking about the butchered version of WLL in the 2007 remaster, with the Crunge bit removed, then it's no contest: HTWWW on objective and sentimental grounds.
