Classic Kiss characters The Demon, the Starchild, the Catman and the Spaceman are to get their own special dedicated comics this year.

Due in March, the four-issue Kiss mini-series is being produced by IDW Publishing. The first comic is dedicated to Gene Simmons’ Demon character and its storyline is inspired by the song Radioactive on Gene’s 1978 solo album.Chris Ryall, IDW’s Chief Creative Officer, says: “Issue one sees the Demon taking on none other than the Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse, and no one draws widescreen apocalyptic action better than Angel Medina. It’s a thrill to have Angel back in the Kiss fold.”

Medina illustrated the Kiss Psycho Circus comics that were published from 1997-2000.

You probably remember that all four Kiss members released solo records back in ’78. Besides Simmons’ Radioactive, we’ve chosen three songs from the other members’ albums that could be the basis for great (well, below average at best) comic storylines.

Ace Frehley – Ozone

The Spaceman climbs aboard his spaceship and travels up into space to belatedly deal with the massive hole in the Ozone Layer caused by Bret Michaels in 1986. Along the way Ace crashes his spaceship (inevitably), breaks his wrist (allegedly) and cancels his quest to the frustration of comics fans worldwide.

Paul Stanley – Love In Chains

The Starchild goes to the rescue of Courtney Love who has been kidnapped by the evil genius Dr Grunge and is languishing in a Seattle dungeon, in chains.

Peter Criss – That’s The Kind Of Sugar Papa Likes

When his father, a Husker Du fan, lapses into a coma, the Catman realises that he needs to track down Bob Mould to bring his dad out of his stupor. There follows an epic quest to find Mould. Once located, Mould arrives in the hospital with an old demo tape, which he plays – the sounds penetrate Criss’ father’s subconscious and he immediately recovers. But the demo tape isn’t of Husker Du… it’s of Mo

Gene Simmons – Radioactive.

Thank God we don’t have to try and explain the plot behind this oneuld’s other band, Sugar! (Look, we said these storylines were crap, okay?!)

C'mon everything is fair game as long as Gene makes a buck! Ace and Peter are his property.....

I can't even believe that anyone would buy this shit - but there are many, much like the "Star Trek" geeks, who will get anything with KISS on it.
