joe (Liverpool)
I don't remember if I've asked this before but I've recently been listening to a lot of tapes, on one of them there is a song called "For the second time" with just the letter "P" written as the artist, the words go "For the second time in a year, I was broken, I was broken" I have tried on the internet but without any success. Anybody got it? Can anybody help put me out of my misery?
amie1974
Sorry Joe I've not got it, but have you tried using a music recognition phone/pc app like Shazam to try and recognise it? Does sometimes depend on the quality of the recording though and I'm not sure how extensive the database of songs is for less mainstream stuff. missytootsweet
Hi joe, I suggest a site called lyrster (dot) com. It's very user friendly and reliable for seeking out songs when you only have partial lyrics. I've learned some of these lyric sites are risky due to virus's that they attract, but this one seems solid. A couple pop-up "surveys", but you will find the song if you have the partial lyric correct. At least that has been my experience, good luck! Missy PS. I tried to find it for you, but the 5 results closest didn't match you're exact quote. It has to be exact due to the site cross referencing all the words in the partial lyric you supply. joe (Liverpool)
Thank you for your responses, but i still can't find it. It is on a tape recorded for me many years ago, unfortunately he only listed the artists by their initials eg.NY,KK,S, etc, S I discovered was Sting But I have tried many websites and all to no avail. I have quoted as much as I can from what I can decipher from the lyrics. It is a male solo artist.

Mellow Archipelago
The reason you can't find it anywhere is because the lyrics have never been put up on the internet. The song is "For the Second Time" by Ian Matthews (with his band Plainsong), off of the 1972 album In Search Of Amelia Earhart. Damn good song, but I doubt you'll see this since you've been banned and, um, I'm a few months late. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cW2SZE1cSZw http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Search_of_Amelia_Earhart
