I don't remember if I've asked this before but I've recently been listening to a lot of tapes, on one of them there is a song called "For the second time" with just the letter "P" written as the artist, the words go "For the second time in a year, I was broken, I was broken" I have tried on the internet but without any success. Anybody got it? Can anybody help put me out of my misery?

Sorry Joe I've not got it, but have you tried using a music recognition phone/pc app like Shazam to try and recognise it? Does sometimes depend on the quality of the recording though and I'm not sure how extensive the database of songs is for less mainstream stuff.

Hi joe, I suggest a site called lyrster (dot) com. It's very user friendly and reliable for seeking out songs when you only have partial lyrics. I've learned some of these lyric sites are risky due to virus's that they attract, but this one seems solid. A couple pop-up "surveys", but you will find the song if you have the partial lyric correct. At least that has been my experience, good luck! :) Missy

PS. I tried to find it for you, but the 5 results closest didn't match you're exact quote. It has to be exact due to the site cross referencing all the words in the partial lyric you supply.

Thank you for your responses, but i still can't find it. It is on a tape recorded for me many years ago, unfortunately he only listed the artists by their initials eg.NY,KK,S, etc, S I discovered was Sting But I have tried many websites and all to no avail. I have quoted as much as I can from what I can decipher from the lyrics. It is a male solo artist.

these lyrics don't match

For The Second Time Lyrics

Punchline

Send "For The Second Time" Ringtone to Cell

this bed has too much room

i might need another cover

these seems to be so much food

and i'm used to empty cupboards

i remember when the days seemed so short

when everything was so right

and now you're gone and my most wanted

the only thing in sight

but then i woke up to nothing

and you seemed more dead than i could ever be

so when you wake up to nothing

i'll leave your life

for the second time

be careful in this cold

this bridge might stay icy

and if i'm not there and dont hear a sound

just like that in the night

this is burning bridge falls down

i remember when the days seemed so short

when everything was so right

and now you're gone and my most wanted

this all ends tonight

right now

then i woke up to nothing

and you seemed more dead than i could ever be

so when you wake up to nothing

i'll leave your life for the second time

its all been said before

but this is my own outlook and my own curse

in years i'll laugh upon looking back

from the best to just dust on a box sealed shut

now blow away

The reason you can't find it anywhere is because the lyrics have never been put up on the internet. The song is "For the Second Time" by Ian Matthews (with his band Plainsong), off of the 1972 album In Search Of Amelia Earhart. Damn good song, but I doubt you'll see this since you've been banned and, um, I'm a few months late.
