McSeven
So from what some of you have known about Zep. Who would you say their main blues influence? Howling Wolf/Albert King/Muddy Waters/Son House/Robert Johnson. I have been listening to a lot of HWolf and its great. Esspecialy his Psychedelic 1969 album. pottedplant
There is an album called "Muddy and The Wolf" Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. Fantastic music. In several of the songs You can here the blues expressions Robert uses, also songs the Stones covered. Robert covered a great song by Bukka White from 1937 on one of his recent tours. Strider
Many blues influences, among many others, but these are the main four, in my opinion: Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Otis Rush.
huw
They had a very wide range of influences, Robert in particular being very familiar with lots of stuff that was outside the "blues mainstream". For Jimmy, Hubert Sumlin is one who needs to be added to the list.
